Very useful and helpful explanation, However it would be nice to remove or greatly tone down the background music it is distracting and irritating.
@OurWatercolourJourney3 күн бұрын
My pleasure. I try to keep the music toned down as much as possible. It can be a challenge between people who want background music and those who do not.

Thank you so much for the instructions for this beautiful painting. I painted along with you and it was lots of fun. But I've only been painting less than a month so my painting certainly doesn't look delicate and beautiful like yours.😅 But it's a start!

It is such a pleasure, and I am so glad you enjoyed it. Exploring the watercolour journey is always fun. You must really enjoy the painting process.😊

Thank you for this tutorial. You mention using an “etching” technique. Could you explain that please? At first I thought you were scratching in lines, but it appears you were using a small brush to make short lines with paint.
@OurWatercolourJourney10 күн бұрын
It is my pleasure. It is like a hatching technique with the paint brush. It is the same they do in pencil sketches but this is done with a finer detail brush to create texture and 'volume in your painting. The best way I can describe it is by doing fine lines closer and further apart to intensify certain areas in your painting. Botanical and other realist artists use this technique to create the fine details and textures you get in for example a flower petal or stem. It helps to create that volume and depth in a certain area where you do not want to do a flat wash. I hope this makes sense. If I can assist further please let me know.

Makes sense, I think. I’ll give it a try. Thanks again.
