Sad part is, visits to the Vulcan end this June, then who knows? It has to leave in bits on trucks at best. It can’t fly out from Doncaster even if it was approved to fly. I think it’s now facing an inevitable future of going for scrap. It should have been homed at Elvington, Doncaster was always a stupid idea.
@BrianTurboT Жыл бұрын
If you click the little box that pops up in top right corner of the video (just after the Vulcan shots) it links to a web page with the latest news about it 🙂
@125brat11 ай бұрын
No, it should have gone to Bruntingthorpe to join the Victor and where Dave Walton would have built a hangar to house the 2 of them. The Vulcan will be scrapped and turned into coke-cans after being thoroughly milked by the Vulcan mob.

I could upload a separate 'private link' version 'just for you', with wind and engine noise' (as I hear it in flight) ... but most folks will find THAT very boring ? I pick the music very carefully, to match the 'mood/feeling' I feel when I'm in the air ... Sometimes, I've been inspired to actually write and perform my own soundtrack ... here's a link to one I composed, with a soundtrack I called 'A Tides Tale' >>> kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaqsm5hppbtohdE

If I get another 'suitable' weather window ... I might plan a 'hop' over to YOU for a chat and a cuppa 😉 ... I think it's just about doable on a 'right winds' day ?? MIGHT need to find a take-off field just tiny bit closer to you at Airways ??
@paramotorhead Жыл бұрын
Nice reverse Brian. Not your usual MO.
@BrianTurboT Жыл бұрын
You're right ... but the wind speed was good ... and the Spyder 3 has very good behaviour 👍 It's good to 'mix it up' now and again, both left AND right reverse turns AND forwards .... be versatile 🙃
@paramotorhead Жыл бұрын
@@BrianTurboT I noticed you were flying the Spyder. Are you finding the landings slow enough?
@BrianTurboT Жыл бұрын
@@paramotorhead ... yes Scott ... slow enough ... but as always, it's the flare timing and stuff. Best results (imho) set trims to red line (same as take-off) and let the wing come in a little bit faster, so you have 'more energy in the wing' to play with as you're touching down. THIS landing was a 'power on' one, as I wanted to have a bit more control ... so balancing the height / angle of descent with power and a bit of brake. Last bit of the landing approached as if I was going to 'foot-drag' ... enough power to fly level ... then 'balance' decreasing power against adding more and more brake, until I'm slow enough to walk it off. Exactly like a conventional aeroplane landing (if that makes sense) 🙂
