The fuel consumption test I have done once. It was on a paved road with some hills, with 50/50 speed limits of 50 km/h and 90 km/h, to the destination and back. I was driving alone with a full tank and about 50 kg of stuff on the way back. The result was 7.99 liters/100 km. It is 12.5 km per liter. A full tank before the trip and after the trip to measure. I had non-standard 265/70R17 (a little bigger) road tires instead of standard 265/65R17.

Sorry, I don't understand the question. The valve/needle moves up and down in the fuel system injector nozzle body. The fuel system has a return line from the injectors. The fuel system should not be allowed to become clogged. The system may need cleaning. Please let me know if I answered your question, and helped you.

After checking online catalogs, it appears that vehicles equipped with the 5L-E engine do not have an automatic transmission. I found that Toyota Hiace and Hiace Regnum with 5L engine from the late 90's and early 2000's had automatic transmission. I don't know of any case of changing it to 5L-E.

Engine power influences vehicle acceleration. Yes, the 5L-E does not have fast acceleration/power.

The last Toyota "L" engines to have a factory turbo were the "2LT" and "2LTE". There's probably a reason Toyota doesn't install a turbo on the "3L", "5L" and "5L-E". As I understand it, these "indirect injection" type engines are not the best for a turbo. However, there are aftermarket turbo kits designed and people also use turbos from different vehicles. I think it is better to exchange the entire vehicle for one with a different engine.

@@princessprado120 I do like the car a lot, it is rugged, cheap to run and has never left me stranded but it needs a power boost, I have seen people turbo 5Ls but this one with electronic fuel injection my fear is in tuning the fuel pump to accommodate the new air-fuel ratio

@@princessprado120 In fact this petrol engine is rather efficient on lower speeds. Often my speed on a highway is 110-130 kmph and it takes about 12-13 litres per 100km. But if I go further that’s where madness begins. 150 kmph means 17-18 l per 100km🤦🏻‍♂️

After regular wheels it will feel rough and on bad asphalt roads at high speeds you can feel the bumps. @@princessprado120These engines need to be revved. Shifting anything under 2000rpm WILL lead to a glazed bore and faster carbon build up in the motor. Toyota released an official statement years ago addressing this. The sweet spot for shifts is 2500-3000, this will keep your fuel economy at its best and your motor healthy.

Send this video to a friend of mine who daily drives a diesel car, but he also has the same opinion as me. maybe try changing the gears at 2200rpm instead cause making the car vibrate too much don't sound too good and the passengers isn't going to enjoy a ride with lots of vibration, isn't? haha

At the same time, I have low fuel consumption at low revs at higher speeds. In the video, there were some intersections with poor visibility and I was driving carefully. In 5th gear, at 90 km/h it is around 2400 rpm. I occasionally go over 3000 rpm on a freeway or going uphill. I myself advised guys to increase the revs, for example, on the Nissan Patrol 3.0TD or 4.2D, which were driving at 900-1100 rpm and their engines stalled.

Less RPM while warming up (1500 RPM) - more gradual warm up. For example, while driving on a good paved road at a steady 90 km/h in 5th gear, 2400 RPM, the temperature is almost the same - less than middle (outside over 30 degrees Celsius).

If I needed to flush the engine with a jet of water, I would do it on very hot and dry days, disconnect the battery and let it dry before starting. Do not direct the water jet at connectors, alternator and other electrical devices.

The 5L-E engine was designed not to have a turbo. The turbo will reduce its reliability. Instead of installing a turbo on the 5L-E, buying a vehicle with turbo engines 1KZ-TE or 1KD-FTV is better.
