Volkswagen had been spolied by the Chinese market. They made huge profits from it and they closed a blind eye over development. My wife had a Tiguan for more than 10 years and we have decided to buy her a new car. She doesn't like to adapt to new technology, so we get her a new Tiguan. After over ten years, improvements are minimal. No improvement in terms of fuel consumption. It is running at 10-12l per 100km in the city. While cars in China are talking 3,4,5, 6 litres. It has a voice command function, but even the sales person said it is not functioning properly. It has an auto parking function, but the salesman suggest us don't bother, it's too slow. Western countries tried to curb the development of Chinese EV's by putting heavy tariffs on Chinese cars. It is useless. Today all motor companies are international. Assuming the tariff could reduce Chinese cars sales to the western countries, it could not stop sales to other countries. When international sales of German cars drops, they lost the economy of scale and possible the road to survive.

it is quite easy to understand, if you are not aggressively innovative and extremely hardworking , you will go out of the business very quickly… that’s punishment for VW not waking up earlier enough and taking proper actions…

It's VW that is going down. They are already going over to only EVs soon. I'm Norway they have stopped selling anything else but EVs. Just me knows of about 5 people that wanted to buy a new VW, had the money in their hands but VW refused to sell them. They went to Toyota instead. Should have done that in the first place but that's a different story. They are driving themselves into the ground.

A lot of words being spoken but the issue is VW are years behind Tesla on manufacturing batteries and software. That's the issue.

The pay gap is a myth. I'd expect as much nonsensical strategies from a pHd who has probably never had a job in a real business. When you control for all the variables, there is virtually no gender gap. And proving this takes very, very little effort. Years of service, type of industry, position within company, age, experience, hours worked, local cost of living - control for all these and other variables, and the "gap" practically vanishes. You can't just lump all men and all women together, find the "average," and then say "Hey look! They aren't the same! That must be because of discrimination." It is a statistically invalid comparison, in every way imaginable.
