When it comes to tube amplifiers you may not know certain low priced vintage speakers that do an awesome job. Well there are loads but EMI speakers are consistently cheap and unknown because they were never mass market. They're BIG in Japan but mostly followed by a cult elsewhere.

REC out is a LINE OUT meaning it is FULL output, cannot control the volume level if directly connected to a power amplifier that does not have volume controls. ~ Mike

Hi thank you for the very interesting video I have always had an idea To find a great sound on headphones and use the same output going to headphones for driving a power amp and speakers The reason is that the listening on headphones is so much more revealing than through speakers The main issue is the too high sensitivity of most power amps (i reaaly dont understand why this. A line preamp has usually no problem to output even 10V with low noise and distortion) The question Which is the best way to lower a headphone amp output so that it can work effectively as a line preamp as well ? for use with power amplifiers, we recommend choosing a headphone amp with a dedicated pre-out. Our WA7 3rd gen, WA22, WA23 LUNA and WA33 offers a preamplifier feature with balanced pre-out. ~ Mike

@@WooAudioUSA hi thank you very much for your kind and valuable reply I understand that the headphone out is not the best option to drive a power amp I really dont understand why power amps have such a high sensitivity Often just 1 V is needed to drive an amp at full power I would love to see a 10V sensitivity Most line preamps and of course many headphone amps have no difficulty to provide 5 to 10V out with great quality I will study the model you mention Kind regards gino

Thank you for the video and the information. The way you explain break in, especially with the mechanical/analog nature of tubes and tube amps makes total sense. That coupled with brain/hearing break in is exactly how I feel the process works. Nice to be in the same camp with Woo Audio. ☮️

No I didn't like this video. The title says "connecting headphone amp to preamp". You talked about all sorts of things remote control blah blah blah but you don't physically show how to make the connection or just explain how to make the connection, what a waste of a few minutes!

Yeah - that's my issue - try as I might, the NE5532 driven Heads, amp taking input off the preamp out, is affecting the signal into the power amp. Plug in head phones and its perfect. Problem is how to have tone and input control without messing with the preamp out. Very little info on this unfortunately!

I have owned Vintage tube gear & used it for well over 30 years & with Any & All tube gear I would highly recommend a 30 minute warmup time before each use. One other tip would be to be sure your tube component has adequate Air Ventilation surrounding it.

My conclusion is that these Walkmans sound too bright and soundstage and bass is weak with them.I even purchased the praised NW-WM1Z,but i was very disappointed.Trebble is so piercing that my ears were hurting after listening a single song.Idon't understand how people like these DAP's.For me they are waste of money.Who know maybe there are some models i'll like,but i've read that almost all of them sound too revealing and bright.Listening to music is not a clinical operation.Too much details and sharpness will ruin the pleasurable experience.My Samsung S8 Plus with Pulsar software produces a sound much better with meaty bass and rich tone,huge soundstage and depth.Mayve it lacks %10-%15 of the detail that NW-WM1Z gives,but who cares i am not a producer i am a listener! It is much more pleasurable to listen for long long hours...

I am using Pulsar player on my S8+ and the sound is much more spacious and punchy than this crap player.Sony's trebble was very annoying too! So all that hype is complete nonsense for me! That player doesn't deserve even 300 bucks in my opinion...

I was thinking of upgrading to a Woo Audio headphone amp, but now I don't know how good ears you guys have. Many years ago I was listening to headphones, I didn't have tube dampers but I rolled up a strip of thick aluminum foil & made a tube size ring with it. The ends of the foil I twisted until the ring of foil was very tight around the tubes. I immediately heard improved focus, cymbal taps I never heard before (treble extension) on a record I had listened to a hundred times, and a noticeable increase in clarity and purity. Later when I bought tube dampers, the same effect. You guys need to get real familiar with a musical track or two, so that if there's any change at all, you'll immediately notice it.
