Seriously, thanks for being open and honest about your experience at this job. I’ve dealt with anxiety and panic attacks before too, it sucks and it can really make things harder. I’m glad you’re working through it and I know you’re gonna be alright. Appreciate the video. 🙏🏼

Great insights, and glad I landed on your channel. I actually do both design and dev but with ZERO code, and I’m currently creating a curriculum for a web design course. My focus is on 3 areas: Strategy 50%, Design 30% and No-code development 20%. This ratio is also how the income from web design projects is shared. So, while it’s good for designers/creatives to learn code, my 2 decades experience in design has taught me that Strategy is the one thing that designers and developers should really strive to understand. It is the bridge between the business world and the creator world, and your ultimate path to much higher income - be it as an employee or freelancer. To kick off, start reading and consuming content on Creative Strategy. There’s a lot of great content by Chris Do on his channel “The Futur”.

LOVE YOUR VIDEOS....I try to watch them as much as a i can every morning before i start working on my projects. I am a VR/AR developer that works with unity game engine with c#. I am now naturally wanting to know more about software development the front-end and back-end (fullstack) I would like to add that skillset to virtual reality and create applications that give a holistic and humanity first approach in immersive technologies instead of it being used for games. Love What you go and your perspective. ALSO SHOUT OUT TO YOU FOR BEING A CHILD OF GOD AND DAUGHTER IN CHRIST LOVE THAT ABOUT YOU ASWELL AND THE FAMILY ASPECT YOU PUT IN YOUR TECH VIDEOS THIS IS WHAT SETS UP APART!

I have been inconsistent in my journey wondering if its worth it at all, mostly me trying to stay in my comfort zone and afraid to fail. But what you said is true, sometimes the journey isn't linear, it has its twists and turns and you have to go back in order to move forward. Thank you for showing your resources with us. I am also going to start using free code camp along with my Udemy course and of course 100devs. I find that those alone weren't enough for me but maybe altogether will make a difference. :)

Hi Jess, firstly thank you for sharing your journey so far and also my deepest condolences for your loss, i wish you peace and blessings 💐 im so fortunate that ive found your channel because im also working towards becoming a frontend developer after studying UX design recently and realised after adding HTML and CSS to my skillset that Ive fallen in love with coding and actually enjoy it more than designing! Thankfully, ive got my foot in the door of tech working as a tech support for a software company here in Melbourne, Australia and have worked my way up to a slightly more seniour role where im helping to custom build solutions for our clients. This is mostly built inside our internal builder that was made by our development team some time ago, although the role has meant that ive had to learn some HTML, CSS and some SQL as well. I have just LOVED learning all three so far and im hungry to learn more. I would love to have a 30 min call with you sometime, you seem so nice, very smart and someone who has a warm heart and empathy for others 😊 I also relate to your faith and how youre leaning into that, it can be a real comforter in times of need! Im Greek Orthodox and so i share your Christian faith too :) blessings to you and I hope we can speak sometime soon! Sophie from Australia 😁

OMG I felt the same on my last job, and it was on finance. The manager breathing on my neck, checking how long it will take me, wanting a heads up all the time, questioning me why I did that so and so and showing me how it was supposed to be done quicker, and than saying that my work was not efficient or good enough and returning the work back for corrections or changes. It was awful, she made me hate the company and especially her. I was a great worker until I met her. She make me feel unable, stupid, slow, resulting in a big self-doubt and impostor syndrome. Ultimately, I was "laid-off". Now I am broken, I have to start over and convince myself that I am enough, that I can do it, but can I? Also, she didn't like me to ask anybody else, I needed to figure out all by myself or ask her directly, only if I did that I knew she would use that against me, and she always did. I'm pretty sure she had a log where she entered daily all my misses and mistakes, keep a complete record of my actions to go and throw that on my face at quarter end. It was awful. I worked like that for 8 months. One of the worst experiences of my career. I hate her. It was so humiliating. I am so devastated and so burned out.
