Looks good. Another helpful tip is to add 1-2 tablespoons oil to the meat before adding the curry, which helps the curry stick to the meat as it marinades.

Why water instead of milk?
@Sydanniechannel
@Sydanniechannel Ай бұрын
@@SelvinaBlondell Thanks for asking. - Fritters are designed to be fried and crispy. It should have a thinner batter than a pancake. So using just water helps to achieve that. - Pancakes have a softer, fluffier texture, which is achieve with milk, butter,egg, etc So Adding milk or another rich liquid can make the fritter batter too soft and lead to a pancake-like result. Hope this answers your question.

History: Fried chicken is considered a Southern dish and is a staple of American culture. The history of fried chicken in the South is complex and includes multiple theories about its origins, including:
 * Scottish immigrants
Some believe Scottish immigrants brought the recipe for fried chicken to the American South. The Scots preferred to fry their chickens instead of boiling or baking them.
 * West Africans
Others believe that West Africans brought the dish to the United States, where they used their country's spices to create a unique flavor.
 * African Americans
African Americans have popularized the dish. * * Fried chicken was a labor-intensive process to prepare, so it was typically only eaten on special occasions, such as Fourth of July celebrations and Sunday dinners.

Today, fried chicken is popular around the world, and there are many modern takes on the dish, including different sauces and rubs.

A little history: Jamaican Fritters/Bacalaitos/Stamp and Go. Jamaican fritters, like stamp and go, are a part of Jamaican cuisine that can be traced back to the island's colonial history. Stamp and go A bite-sized fish fritter made with salted cod that's a popular breakfast dish and one of Jamaica's original fast foods. The unusual name is supposed to have derived from the 18th-century British sailing ships. If an officer wanted something to be done in a hurry the order was "Stamp and Go!". Each country in the Caribbean has its own version of fritters, but they typically use herbs, hot pepper, and green onions. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stamp_and_Go

Healthy homemade Granola Bars: A healthy granola bar recipe with oats, peanut butter, honey, and your favorite mix-ins. High fiber, low sugar, and great for kids and adults! PREP: 10minutes; COOK: 15 minutes Ingredients * 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats * ¾ cup roughly chopped nuts such as: almonds, walnuts, pecans, peanuts or a mix * ¼ cup sunflower or pumpkin seeds * ¼ cup unsweetened coconut flakes * ½ cup honey * ⅓ cup creamy peanut butter * 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract * ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon * ¼ teaspoon kosher salt , (optional) * ⅓ cup dried cranberry Instructions * Place all dry ingredients into a bowl.
 * Meanwhile, heat the honey and peanut butter together in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the mixture is smoothly combined. Remove from the heat. Stir in the vanilla, cinnamon, and optional salt. * Pour batter over the dry ingredients, and mix thoroughly.
 * Transfer the batter into your prepared pan. With the spatula, press the bars into a single layer.
 * Bake the healthy granola bars for 12 to 20 minutes on 350 degrees: 20 minutes will yield crunchier bars; at 12 they will be slightly chewier. Let them cool completely in the pan before removing.
 * Once the bars have cooled completely, lift the parchment paper onto a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut the bars into square. Enjoy👍

RECIPE -3 lbs Oxtail -1 tbsp Low Sodium Soy Sauce -1 piece of Ginger or tsp powdered ginger -1 tsp Onion Powder -1 tsp Garlic Powder -1 1/2 tsp soy sauce/ Browning Sauce -1 Scallion, diced -1/2 Onion, chopped -1 tbsp Minced Garlic -Thyme fresh or bottled -6 Allspice Berries/ pimento -1/4 Red Pepper, chopped -1/4 Green or Orange pepper, chopped -6 Fresh Garlic Cloves, chopped -1 tsp black pepper/ crushed red pepper/ Scotch Bonnet Pepper or Habanero pepper 🌶️ -1/4 cup of Corn or Canola Oil -1 can of Butter Beans or frozen Lima beans 🫘 DIRECTIONS Start by rinsing your oxtail with water & lime juice. Next, add your soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, minced garlic, Fresh herbs & spices Massage seasonings into oxtail. Optional: marinate for 2 hours or overnight. In a large iron skillet , place fire on low/medium. Heat pot for 3 minutes and then add oil. Heat oil for another 3 minutes and begin adding the oxtail.
Once you’ve added the oxtail, cover. You will brown the meat for 5- 10 minutes, occasionally flipping the pieces of oxtail until they are brown on all sides. Careful not to let it burn! Once the meat has browned on all sides, add 5 cups of boiling hot water. Optional: Boil your ginger with it, if you desire to. Cover and place your fire on medium fire; and cook for 1 1/2 hours or until tender. *Keep adding hot water as the water evaporates while cooking. *Once it’s soft and tender, add your can butter beans (strain water) or frozen Lima beans 🫘, fresh onion, garlic, thyme, scallion, scotch bonnet, and red/green pepper.
Add more seasoning for your taste, such ad salt, a tsp each of onion & garlic powder, Stir and cover. Cook on medium for another 25 - 30 minutes and your gravy is nice and thick. Oxtail will be tender and ready to eat.
* Serve it with your favorite rice and peas/ white rice black eyed peas and rice 🍚. Cheers 🥂
