I have something interesting for you that I'm not sure ANYONE has ever noticed before. The music that plays during the fight scene in the very first episode contains a a whole section that is taken directly from one of the star wars films. The one where Luke is in the snow. You should really seek out the two scenes and listen to them. I noticed it when watching through the Star Wars films about 4 years ago. Having grown up watching Ulysses on VHS, I noticed the music straight away!

I watched this series in 1988 when it was first broadcast. An absolutely superb series, the filming, acting, writing and music is flawless. From Barton's initial orders, the hatred in Cattermole's 'Watch the birdy'(and the the look of shock on face as he watches 'Haddy' be incinerated), to Hart wishing a struck adversary luck in making it back across the channel, this really was a magnificent series.

Tenn Greneet, the head gunner of the first Death Star, felt so much guilt after the destruction of Alderaan that he intentionally stalled the firing sequence during the battle of Yavin in order to buy the rebels more time. In doing so he bought Luke enough time to fire the torpedoes into the exhaust port, if it were not for his hesitation and intentional stalling the rebels on Yavin 4 would have been obliterated. So basically he pulls the lever slower because he's stalling. You can see him hesitate to press the keypad earlier on too.

Makes sense. Also, well done for spotting the hesitation on the keypad!

I think the bearings issues can be chalked up to a miscommunication between the writers and the visual effects artists. But the problem and inconsistences with headings are pretty bad. The pic you show at 2:00 says it all. Those sample ships have the same heading but are going in totally different directions and I don't know how to fix that problem.

Pity that LWT changed the storyline which in turn made it very difficult to produce a TV version of the sequel “A Good Clean Fight”. Somehow I felt LWT didn’t have the budget to film in even America (say Nevada or Texas) to depict North Africa and P-40s in RAF markings.

That's fair but the same stupidity can be said with the Democrat key players. Both sides care more about proving the other side, wrong than giving a crap about the American people in our country. It is truly a disservice and disgrace the way both are acting, and these videos only play into that.

Great series for its time on a TV budget, nit picking about the wrong details is stupidity, they had to use what was available. There were still a few Battle of Britain pilots around when this was made and they weren't too happy how some of the pilots were portrayed, warts and all. I read the book which was very good, but it exagerated some of the pilots bad characteristics for dramatic effect.

I only watched this KZbin clip because the name reminded me of one of the best paperback novels I ever borrowed from my highschool library. It was named "piece of cake" For the life of me I couldn't understand why the book was so unpopular, infact I was the first to read it in almost 40 years since the previous burrower. It was a marvelous piece of work, the dogfighting, the ground action, the planning, feeling each and every pilot's emotions and so much more, It quite literally fueled my interest into WW2 era aviation history. Now I hear it has a series in it's honour, I'm thrilled, I know what I'm going to be watching when I'm done with my exams Thank you 😂

I think you are over thinking the situation too much. The course of events were already set in motion from the moment Khan took command of Reliant. When Kirk used the prefix codes to lower the Reliants shields, it was pretty much on the spot thinking by Kirk to try and give themselves and Enterprise a fighting chance. Enterprise gets a bit of a kicking from khan, and it's only by the smart thinking by Kirk and Spock who change days into hours, hours into minutes that gives poor Enterprise a fighting chance at all, and impulse power to even get to the nebula. Although khan was very intelligent, he let his anger and rage towards Admiral James T Kirk get in the way of beating him in a game of cat and mouse. Plus Spock had to die by the end of the film because Leonard Nimoy had requested it. (Although he already had planned his return). 😊
