Awesome. I"m in Tucson and never heard of the Nagels. Where is that location? I posted a video just a few weeks ago of petroglyphs hidden deep in the cocoraque district of Ironwood Monument. It looks very similar.

Yes it was meant to be a short with a powerful message. Not meant to be a monologue but a conversation on a phone =)

This is basically straight out of the camera, HD GoPro 3+. The wide angle view exaggerates the movement.

This is the base scene in which other scenes will be added to it. This is not the completed trailer. There is alot of work to still do.

This would be much better with a simple change in directing. Way too long a scene for continuously doing the same act.

@GassyBastard13 жыл бұрын
@kyebean Wow@ the ignorance. So you met one celebrity from Iran that you find cute and you believe the whole country is filled with nothing but gorgeous women? I guess every American girl must look like Angelina Jolie then..
@GassyBastard13 жыл бұрын
"Iranian American", what a load of B.S. If she was born in America, she is american, period. Do you call yourselves British Americans or Europan Americans because you have ancestors from there? Same thing.

@dmisraje1 How is this Randy's personal franchise? This is no more than a portfolio piece at this point. Any T-shirt sales, movie deals, lunch boxes? Stop with the comments.

@Sens50 Lisa DID get credit for writing the book. Randy wrote the screenplay... GET IT? Do you understand?
@bdaveshaw13 жыл бұрын
@dmisraje1 did you READ the description giving credit to your sister and the book? Guess NOT.
@bdaveshaw13 жыл бұрын
Because Randy Argue wrote the SCREEN PLAY based on the book by Lisa. There is a difference. ;)

Aside from the State having little to spend on the schools these days, I totally agree about the Lotto scam. Millions go in to that 'program' only to have a tiny trickle of money end up in the school. We Californians were sold a bill of goods. The IPSF does a lot of good work to fill the gap where possible.

it's a shame that the Northwood high school in Irvine cancelled all marching band and color guard competitions due to lack of funds. Tuition in the class is great but performimg LIVE is the GREATEST expeinece of all !!!

In the lead role, Jack Ong totally draws you into the story and leaves you yearning for more. Ong's brilliant performance is perfectly complimented by Yan Cui's "Mrs. Wong", and "Baby Levi" is so adorable, you can't help but want to take him home with you! Bryan Miller’s wonderful original score, added significantly to the feel of the picture. A big thanks to Randall Argue for peeking our interest with "Saving Levi"...but if ever a short film needed to be made into a feature film, this is it!

Thanks for your comments, Bill. I loved being a part of this project and am so encouraged by your thoughts and comments. Jack Ong is not longer with us unfortunately but what a tremendous legacy in this short. Everyone gave so much to be a part of this project and deserved so much more than the credit that they've ever received. Thanks again for your encouragement and love shown.

Actors were excellent. Beautiful color and picture quality. No one mentioned and I did not see a horribly disfigured infant. It would have explained the story to me.

The cinematography, set design and especially the casting all work to authenticate this biographical documentary. Jack Ong's moving narration establishes continuity in harmony with the hard-working peasant he portrays, perfectly paired with Yan Cui as his wife. While Ong's role in "Journey of a Paper Son" was gripping, his performance here is superior because the warmth, compassion and depth of his character shine through to engage the viewer. This tale deserves a larger screen.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments and encouragement. This was a labor of love and yes, Jack and Yan and everyone involved were so dedicated and giving of their time and talents. My goal is to produce more and even on a larger scale should I be so fortunate.

I very much enjoyed this short film & was thrilled to view more work done by such talent. I wish it were more well-known! (I look forward to reading the book as well.) It is wonderful to see such work receive well-deserved accolades & hope Jack Ong gets his due & more work! So satisfying to hear of his great productions. Fantastic job! I'd like to see him in this (or a similar theme) developed as a full length film. ~ Pamela Hart, Salt Lake City, UT

Nasim is one of many many talented, and brave Iranian women who showed that they will never yield to and will never accept the unjust, barbaric and horrific Islamic laws against women. In the past 30 years of brutal rule of Islamic regime in Iran, Iranian women fought restlessly and showed to the world that Islamic regime in Iran is an unfit and unjust, dirty spot in Iranian history. We are proud of you Nasim and all Iranian Freedom Fighting Women.

Congratulations to Nasim on recieving this honor! She is a talented comedic actress and a major hottie with her exotic Persian good looks. I wish SNL would stop underutilizing her talents and allow her to shine more often(and maybe use Kristen Wiig a bit LESS).
