Thank you for this review! It was very useful, and all the key points of this product are clearly visible & understandable, which is great! 👍 What I miss from this very product (and other Gator gig bags, eg. "Core", "Transit"), that the neck block has no additional strap over it, with which you could fully fix your guitar. I know, that when you close and zip the bag, the front part holds basically the whole instrument in its place, but not with the ability of "zero move" of the guitar within the case. Which I find important (and some other brands offer this solution for their thick gig bags).

Thank you! And yes, that would have a been a great addition to the case for sure!

Can you play clean with this metal version you reviewed?
@palmmute4 ай бұрын
It doesn't have a dedicated clean channel, but you can get by with lowering the gain on the distorted channels.
@VsosGD3 ай бұрын
@@palmmuteSo I ended up buying this without noticing your reply. Turns out if you play with the lowest gain setting, lower the volume from the guitar and increase the volume from the device, you can get an actual clean tone!

Wow, awesome tone man! I’ve been trying to replicate that clean tone on my Boss Katana for a while now. What preset did you use?
@palmmute7 ай бұрын
Thanks! I dialed in a pretty normal clean tone on the katana, and EQ'd it later to make it sound a little more fitting. I think I cut the bass and messed around with the mids, then added a little bit of reverb and delay.

Would these fit a Gibson SG?
@palmmute7 ай бұрын
These will fit on headstocks with a maximum thickness of 15.4mm, and SG models tend to vary between 14-15.6mm, so it's cutting it pretty close. I'd probably measure your headstock and look for taller tuners in this case.
@tomtherhythmplayer7 ай бұрын
@@palmmute yeah, I see. Thanks for the reply. I've Been looking to get an SG Standard in Heritage Cherry and would look to swap the stock tuners to lock in tuners so it's easier to tune and restring. I had a go at restringing one of my Les Pauls and it was a right pain with the windings, I had a go at restringing a guitar with lock in tuners and it was so easy.

Thank you! :) I'd recommend the Boss Katana. I have been playing on the 50w version for four years and even though it's a $250 amp, I still haven't felt the need to upgrade. It holds up really well for all genres, including metal. If it's under your budget, I'd look into Hughes&Kettner amps.

Schaller machine heads are awesome but most headstock related tuning problems are caused by multiple winds on the tuner post and/or pinching at the nut and string trees (if you have them). It's best to only put one turn (closer to 1.5) worth of string on your tuner post and then lock it (there are videos & images demonstrating this locking technique). Next is to add some graphite (pencil lead) to the nut slots and directly to the string under the string tree(s). I simply roll a pencil tip on each nut slot to create a bit of dust and then rub the tip of the pencil directly on the string under the string tree after it's on and tuned. Alternatively you can get a graphite nut & string tree(s) but even then I add pencil lead to make sure it's properly lubricated. This will eliminate tuning problems at the headstock providing your machine heads aren't failing.🙂
