I absolutely love your dress! That was a great save! I’m in the middle of making a Donny shirt! I have been struggling with adding the back bodice and doing the burrito. Looking for advice. When I sew the back bodice to the back yoke RST then do the burrito I have twice had to unpick it because the back bodice is inside out! 🤦♀️🤷♀️ I have watched the video but she goes pretty fast and I have read the instructions. Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong? Thank you for this video! I am built similar to you and will probably have to adjust my pattern too! Love you 3rd rendition! ♥️

Such pretty dresses, great choice of fabric. This is my second year, I made five pop over sun dress last year. This time I have finished four with six more cut out. All of these are for the size twelve as they mentioned they get fewer of this size. I also downloaded the Alisa’s latest pattern & will make a few of these. Re the pockets I always line mine & as you mentioned it strengthens them. Thank you great video.❤

I’m coming back to quilting after 24 year hiatus and not interested in traditional blocks and a whole lot of perfect. I planning on collage, and art quilts for placemats using Ankara remnants . I’m drawn to improvisational quilting. I’m a former rule follower turned rule breaker in garment sewing 🪡 and quilting now😮. But great to see you again. Sometimes we need breaks even from the hobbies we love. And, I love your dress. I make those as well.

Def give the business a try, and see how it goes! I wonder if “Hand-dyed” would bring more traffic than “Ice-dyed”, since it’s a more broad description? 🤔 I cannot imagine weeding all that vinyl for the cruise shirts! 😱 You are AMAZEBALLS! 💗
@MichelleSewsAgain4 ай бұрын
I definitely think I need to use "hand-dyed" rather than "ice-dyed" - I'm sure most people wouldn't know what that is! The weeding took 15 minutes for each logo! Good thing I started early and was able to knock out a handful at a time over the course of a few weeks. Which is a shocker, I'm never ahead of the game 🤣🤣🤣

I just made it yesterday. I lengthened it by 7” but it’s very large and boxy, no shape at all to it. I also lengthened the sleeves.to full length.
@MichelleSewsAgain4 ай бұрын
Definitely no shape - I'm thinking I might do an FBA next time. I'll still need to lengthen it, but maybe that will help give it a little more shape. Do you love yours? I like it enough to keep trying more versions!

Hi Michelle. I'd love to buy some of your ice dyed fabric! All the pieces you've shown have been gorgeous. If you're at the concept stage, I'm not sure if you want any details yet. But others have already mentioned fabric bases, so I'll offer my preferences. My favorite fabric is jersey knit of 95% pima cotton with 5% spandex. That mix seems to be the most dependably soft cotton-spandex fabric. The softness is what makes me want to buy more of what's on offer along with rich wonderful colors and patterns. Same with rayon wovens -- the ones that are soft are the most appealing to me. That even applies to woven cotton fabric for me -- the softer ones like cotton lawn are often more appealing to me for garments. I make quilts too. For those projects, I'm usually looking for light but densely woven cotton fabrics with beautiful prints or colors; to me softness is nice but not essential for that use. I think it's exciting that you might create a business and hope it could be structured to result in a decent income for you and all the time you invest in creating the fabric. Wishing you the best as you think about possibilities and jump into researching and learning and expanding horizons, Antonia
@MichelleSewsAgain4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your input on the fabric bases - that's definitely helpful! Since I don't really sew with knits much, it's good to know what people prefer. I probably won't do a lot of quilting cottons because that seems to be available on Etsy from many different sellers. I'm trying to offer something that isn't already "out there". Thank you for your support! I'll definitely keep all of you updated on the progress (or lack thereof haha) of the business idea.

Hey its great to see you and hear what you are up to. Maybe a tee shirt business is in your future too.
@MichelleSewsAgain5 ай бұрын
Hi Carmen! I think I'll stick to fabric for my business - the tee shirt market is heavily saturated and a lot of people undervalue their work - so it doesn't leave much room to charge what I think my time would be worth. But I love making tees for my friends and family 😊💕
@carlamiller20925 ай бұрын
I don’t recall if you have a serger or not. You could run the towels for your swatches through the serger and it would cut them and finish one edge of the fabric. You’d have to run the opposite edge(s) through serger separately. Just an idea if your pinking rotary blade doesn’t work well. I have one and dislike it.
@MichelleSewsAgain5 ай бұрын
Yes, I have a serger 😊. I thought about doing that but I have so many to do - I just didn't want to use up my thread on this project, you know? Plus - once these have gone through the dryer - they won't be at risk of fraying anymore. I used the pinking rotary blade and I love it! So much easier than the shears - at least for me 😊. I appreciate the suggestion!! 💕
