Hey Bill, been listening to your podcast for the past week or so while at work. Started from the beginning and working my way through them. Are you going to be doing more episodes of the podcast?
@BillGriggs8 ай бұрын
Hey Steve. Thanks for listening to The CNC Router Tips Podcast. I can't say when I will make more episodes but if you have a specific topic you would like to see covered let me know.
@HowToFromMeToYou7 ай бұрын
@BillGriggs Thanks for getting back to me Bill, I didn't have any particular subject. I'd be interesting to hear some episodes possibly updated and how things have changed from then to now. With V12 being out now and how cnc machines have come a long way since the recording of the episode and things of that nature, I'd think it'd be interesting to hear your thoughts.

My coolant hose got munched too. Found the perfect replacement at Ace for $12. It's for a shower and looks like the exact same hose that came with the machine.
@BillGriggs Жыл бұрын
Later on in my adventure I changed quite a bit of the coolant system. I changed to a bigger coolant tank with a 1/8 hp sump pump motor if I recall. Then added the Tormach Smartcool. Lots of upgrades over the years.

I went with a bigger hose diameter when I changed pumps.

@@BillGriggs I'm working on lots of things. I recently upgraded my cnc. I was an early sponsor of the SO3 and purchased the XXL upgrade while it was still available, but built nice table and enclosure with dust collection. In addition, I set up my prusa farm, been experimenting with alternatives to the PI4, to load Octoprint, and recovering from last week's surgery. Oh, I am automating my c-6 telescope.. So, I'm like you, working on lots of things.

@@michaelwong4530 I like to keep busy to. I am changing the computer and control on my router. The old one couldn't handle cold weather anymore. Then I am finishing up a CNC lathe conversion to Centroid Acorn. Lots of fun. Now if only SpaceX would launch Starship I would be happy.

@@BillGriggs that control board is exactly what I've been looking for. If you can share your lessons learned, I would appreciate it. The grbl controller is pretty weak and has terrible feedback. Don't get me wrong, it works, but controls have advanced sine the so3 came out. Take care my friend.

I forgot to mention that I am interested in your Triple Edge FInder. Do you still make them? If so do you ship to Canada?
@BillGriggs2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris. I suspect your debounce setting is set too low. False triggers can happen. Yes the Triple Edge Finder is still being produced and we ship to Canada Priority Mail (Costs a bit more than US). themakersguide.com
@chrisleech15652 жыл бұрын
@@BillGriggs THanks for the quick reply, I sent you an email but had no reply. Still the issue I have is with your website, do I just continue with the Paypal option and then after that shipping cost will be changed to reflect the international destination?
@chrisleech15652 жыл бұрын
The total is ~85 USD as I get to the checkout , but this doesn't reflect international shipping cost, only the fixed price to locations in USA only. ie $8.95
@BillGriggs2 жыл бұрын
@@chrisleech1565 You are correct. There is an email listed on the website. Send me an email and I will get a shipping quote for you.
What a great speaking voice you have. I just upgraded to Mach4 and an ESS card but it is giving me trouble with spurious triggering. Prob just a matter of VFD noise, but how can it be so sensitive.? Never had the problem with my cheap factory supplied Mach3 USB 4 axis controller. Our Canadian dollar is so low right now that Centroid Acorn would set me back 30% extra in the conversion. There seems to be no end to the upgrades one can do. Closed loop steppers or moving to servos. Big money. Next thing you know you're into a rewire, and larger cabinet.
