How was set up straight out of the box??
@ViTAR30 Жыл бұрын
My experience - initial setup was good, but I needed to file with sandpaper the edges of frets a bit and replace one of the fret markers on the top pf the neck since it was too tiny to see. Other than that, it’s perfect 2 years already. When changing strings, you setup it a bit anyway each time.

Same electronics. M5 has a 5 piece neck and the M7 is one piece. M5 is ash body. M7 comes in alder or ash body

This bass or the V7? What's more jazzy styled in sound?
@jplb962 жыл бұрын
The jazz bass probably.... But this can do a great jazz bass mode too as it has single coil modes.
@ViTAR30 Жыл бұрын
Depends what tone you will hear and love. You need to compare by yourself to feel the nuances. This one has a greater variety of tones, still it’s more toward modern tones, but you can do pretty everything with it. V7 in the same mode might sound a bit different.

I own both a Sire V7 of the first gen when they came out and a Fender Elite V (which I got at half the price, new :) ). Different league between both basses and I'm planning to sell my Sire and spend some more to get a bass that will complement the Fender. The M7 2nd gen 5 strings seems to be it. I really like the spacing between the strings in the Fender, which is wider than in the Sire allowing better control for the slapping technique. Do you happen to know if the spacing has been increased in the M7 so it resembles the Fender's? Thanks in advance.
