I am a little confused about what you said in the beginning , if you choose the corporate route as a corporate Pilot you won’t be home every night ? Are there careers in aviation you can make for example a 9 to 5

There is almost no career as a pilot that is 9-5. Not that we are aware of, anyway.

Thanks for letting me know that I didn’t need much of an education. I didn’t need that associate degree in Aviation/ Maintenance Science and all those aircraft specific schools. Oh and I could have skipped all my schoolwork after I attained a 8th grade level of reading. Otherwise a real informed video.

I can't believe I'm 47 years old and until recently met an a&p tech who has been in this line of work for a awhile now. Because of him I'm now taking the leap. This video is literally everything that I am but I'm coming from the automotive / side by side mechanic field. I do all my own work on my cars since I was 15. Super bummed it took me this long to learn about this field. I hope I can do this job for a long time. Great video I wish I would have found this back in 2006. Everything works out the way its supposed to.

To further educate some of you that would like to work on helicopters. Keep in mind that Air Ambulance Services such as Metro Aviation, Air Methods, PHI, Air Evac, and every other WILL require experience on helicopters. So just an A&P may not be enough. Air EMS does pay very well so these positions hire the "best of the best" if I can say it that way. Try to enroll in a factory school if possible. Airbus and Bell both have schools in Dallas. This may be the fastest way to become an entry level mechanic. Try for a heavy maintenance position as you will gain the experience you need.

When he said at 65 you're DONE, that is only half true. You are done flying part 121(major airlines and wide-body cargo)as per federal restrictions. Although you can continue to fly commercial through part 135 or part 91 as long as you are able to maintain a class 1 or class 2 medical certificate. He looks like hes over 65, so he's obviously not done.
