This video was super helpful! Thank you! I took it apart first to make sure it was the same motor. only issue/difference was that my EVA pads were glued down so didn’t come off as easily as in the video. I have a dual motor 4 watch but with one knob in the middle and both motors went out

Just got my french press, some whole beans, and this sweet grinder! It works extremely well. I love it so far (just used it to fill up the glass jar). Grinding took a few minutes, and was very easy (even a kid could do it). Just worried about how long the ceramic grinder will last. Edit 1: It's also very easy to use, clean, and take apart. Just have to be careful putting the handle nut on as to not strip the nut or the ceramic burr where the nut screws on.

@juanez8 Seems good. Slow, but gives me a good work out. I've tried coarse grinding beans, but making coffee with it, it doesn't extract enough of the coffee essence. So basically I only use the "fine grind" setting. I get more out of my coffee that way too. I don't mind a tiny bit of grinds in my coffee (I use a french press). I can never go back to pre ground coffee. On a side note, eventually I feel like the grind top will wear out from the glass jar below after a long long time. It's made of some kind of hard plastic and when I grind, I can feel a tiny bit of side to side flexing. Eventually it will break at the seam where it is flexing a little bit.

@ thank you for the detailed update I just setup my grinder today, I will just have to put it to the test. It doesn’t feel durable, so not sure how long it will last with daily usage. My goal is to get efficient with grinding my own beans before spending more on a higher quality apartas

@@kryptokrypto702 when you clean the ceramic pieces, do they get white or do they get stained brown from the coffee? Mine don’t have a ceramic shine anymore

@juanez8 I don't bother cleaning it. Maybe it's a good idea, maybe it's bad, but it has worked for me so far. I just keep it inside a container as to not get dust on or in it.

It is easy to replace the motor but what is hard is actually buying a motor. I am in UK and I found one source of motors which was quoting a stupid price and TWO MONTHS delivery. In an experiment I ordered a common Japanese motor from Amazon which was on next day delivery and about 20% of the price. The hope was that I could modify the winder to fit it. In fact the cheap motor had the same shaft design so fitted the watch holder and when I removed the old motor I found that underneath was a separate set of mountings that exactly fitted the replacement. The whole replacement job took less than 10 minutes.

Yeah, so you get a brand new winder these guys and one motor is already dead. And there’s no way I’m keeping a new winder at $500 and then keeping because a motor isn’t working. Done with these awful winders.

One motor from my winder failed and I had a similar problem with a different make . Oddly enough one of the watch retailers I use sent me a high quality British made winder as a gift. Guess what? within six months one of the motors failed !! Now have three Chinese made winders that have been running for years with no more issues.
