I lived in Peterlee from 1959-1970, (5-15 years old) then we moved to Canada. It was wonderful to watch this video, it brought back a lot of memories for me. I lived in Manor Way.

Peterlee has changed quite a bit, but Manor Way relatively still the same. I moved to Peterlee in mid seventies and have some great memories of it.

Please can you click the link of when i was on itv news. All i want to is bring awareness of how dangerous the sea can be on the coast. To the parents and grandparents who watched me on itv news could you please speak to your children and grankids and friends about the dangers of the sea. This will save another life if we all stick together in helping the youth of today. www.itv.com/news/tyne-tees/2022-07-21/grandad-urges-people-not-to-swim-at-north-east-beach-after-family-tragedy

Thanks for the video. I'm from Peterlee and until the past few years always lived there (and still did in 2009 when this was uploaded). It isn't actually that bad for crime and what not compared to the city I live in now (Sheffield). With regret however I had to move away to find career progression, which is a shame as it is too easy to slate it, when in reality, it is a pretty decent and safe town.

Lived in Easington but spent most of my spotty youth in Peterlee. Went to the Grammar Tech, spent many happy hours in the youth club, and it was there I met the first love of my life. Unfortunately, she didn't feel the same because she dumped me after about 3 months. Happy days. :)

Peterlee, like so many new towns, could have been so much better than it is. It's a shame so much of it was built in the 60s and 70s - the era that architecture forgot.

I knew the queen visited peterlee! She stayed in my old street Avon Road for a bit. I've been alive 13 and have lived it all in peterlee. It needs to go back to the old ways. They look better and like it has more room and places to go. Shame. I have been living there from 2000 to 2013 and nothing has got better. It's all crap. There is nothing to do. It's so boring now. Wish it was as fun as the old days
