Thank you for sharing your perspective on the cost of dental care. It is true that the cost of dental services has increased over the years due to advancements in technology, materials, and techniques. However, it is important to note that these advancements have also led to improved outcomes and better overall oral health for patients. Dental professionals strive to provide high-quality care to their patients while also being mindful of the cost of treatment. If you have any concerns about the cost of dental care, I recommend discussing them with your dentist to explore possible options or payment plans that may be available.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It's unfortunate that your dog destroyed your top denture, causing additional inconvenience on top of the discomfort you were already experiencing. If you are facing any difficulties with your immediate dentures, it is important to consult with your dentist for proper guidance and assistance. In the meantime, continue to take care of your oral health to prevent any further issues.

Your surgeon may need to reassess the situation and may recommend additional treatment options such as a root canal procedure or extraction of the infected tooth. It is important to communicate any concerns or changes in symptoms to your oral surgeon to ensure the best possible outcome for your oral health.

I don't get it. Clinically speaking, that thing is on average off by around 2 degrees and anywhere from 0.8 to 1.5mm in depth. A guide is more accurate, more stable, more reliable, and less expensive. What is the draw of using something like this? Especially when you pushed on that, it 100% went in further which is physically impossible when using a guide.

How long after bone graft is the implant?
@ImplantCenterofMiami
@ImplantCenterofMiami 3 ай бұрын
The timing of placing an implant after a bone graft depends on several factors, including the individual's healing process, the extent of the bone graft procedure, and the quality of the bone graft material used. In general, implants are typically placed 3-6 months after a bone graft procedure to allow for proper healing and integration of the graft material with the surrounding bone. However, this timeline may vary depending on the specific circumstances of each case. It is important to consult with your healthcare provider to determine the most appropriate timing for implant placement following a bone graft.

Hi, I have a concern my doctor isn't so sure of the answer. I'm a guitarist and singer. I'm having the above procedure done first thing on a Monday morning in July, then I've taken the next 4 days off. Will I be able to sing/perform by the weekend? A few months ago he extracted my upper molar on a Tuesday morning, open me up pretty big, and added cadaver bone. I went to my day job the very next day and was back singing on the weekend, although all with the help of prescribed ibuprofen. I powered through it pretty good, but not sure about this sinus surgery compared to the molar extraction. Thanks for any advice.
@ImplantCenterofMiami
@ImplantCenterofMiami 4 ай бұрын
Dear concern, Thank you for reaching out with your question regarding your upcoming sinus surgery and your ability to sing/perform by the weekend. While I understand that your doctor may not have a definitive answer, it is essential to consider that recovery time can vary for each individual and depends on several factors. Sinus surgery is generally more complex than a molar extraction, and the recovery process may require a longer healing period. It is possible that you may experience some discomfort, swelling, and potential limitations in your vocal ability immediately following the procedure. Given that you have taken a few days off following the procedure, it is a good start towards facilitating a speedy recovery. However, it is crucial to prioritize your health and allow yourself enough time to heal properly. It is advisable to consult with your surgeon regarding any post-operative care instructions and recommendations for a safe recovery. Moreover, considering your previous experience with molar extraction and recovery, it is worth noting that each surgical procedure varies in terms of complexity and healing process. It is challenging to predict accurately how your body will respond to this particular surgery. To ensure the best outcome, I recommend following the advice and guidance of your healthcare professional. They will have the necessary knowledge and expertise to provide you with personalized information specific to your situation. They may also be able to offer strategies, such as pain management techniques, specific exercises, or post-operative precautions, to help you recover more quickly. I understand the importance of your passion for music and performing, but it is vital not to rush the healing process to avoid any potential complications or setbacks. Patience and proper care will contribute to a successful recovery, enabling you to return to your singing and performing activities in due time. If you have any further concerns or questions, I encourage you to discuss them with your doctor. They will be able to provide you with the most accurate and tailored advice to address your specific situation. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a successful return to your musical pursuits. Sincerely, [Your Name]

In your opinion, if an allograft fails multiple times, would using the patient's own bone next time result in a higher rate of success?
@ImplantCenterofMiami
@ImplantCenterofMiami 4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question. When an allograft procedure fails multiple times, it is indeed worth considering alternative options. One potential option could be utilizing the patient's own bone, known as an autograft. Autografts have been shown to have higher success rates compared to allografts, as they offer several advantages such as better integration, decreased risk of rejection, and potential for improved healing. However, the decision to use autografts should always be made in consultation with a qualified healthcare professional who can assess the underlying factors contributing to the previous failures and determine the most appropriate course of action for each individual case.

I understand that you are feeling nervous and anxious about the prospect of getting an implant after having braces for several years. Dental procedures can be intimidating, but it is important to remember that your orthodontist and dentist have your best interests in mind. Implants are a common and highly effective solution for missing teeth, providing a natural-looking and functional replacement. While the process may seem intimidating, advancements in dental technology have made it easier and less painful than in the past. It is completely normal to feel anxious before any dental procedure, but please remember that your dental professionals are experienced and will ensure your comfort throughout the process. Communicate your concerns openly with them, and they will be able to address any worries you may have. Trust in your orthodontist and dentist's expertise, and believe that when you return, everything will be completed and your oral health will be improved. Remember to follow any post-procedural instructions provided by your dentist for a successful recovery. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to discuss them with your dental professionals.

Is this even safe? After tooth extraction, you can't spit for 3 days, you could get dry socket if you spit AND you need to wait 4 months after tooth extraction to get your implant. At least this is all what my DDS told me... I got my tooth extracted but I never got my implant because I couldn't afford it 😑
@ImplantCenterofMiami
@ImplantCenterofMiami 4 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your concern. Following tooth extraction, it is generally advised to avoid spitting forcefully for a few days to minimize the risk of developing dry socket, a painful condition. It is essential to follow post-operative instructions provided by your dentist to promote proper healing and prevent any complications. Regarding the timing for dental implant placement, it is generally recommended to wait around 4-6 months after extraction to allow for sufficient healing and bone regeneration before undergoing implant surgery. This timeframe may vary depending on individual circumstances, and it would be best to consult with your dentist to determine the optimal timing for your case. Financial constraints can be a challenge, and it is unfortunate that you were unable to proceed with the implant immediately due to affordability reasons. It may be worth discussing alternative treatment options with your dentist or exploring payment plans that could potentially make the implant more accessible in the future. Regular check-ups with your dental professional will also help monitor any changes in your oral health during this waiting period. Remember, it is essential to communicate openly with your dentist about your concerns, financial limitations, and explore viable solutions together.

@ImplantCenterofMiami 4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your inquiry. The total cost for both extraction and implant can vary depending on various factors, such as the complexity of the case and the specific treatment plan recommended by the dentist. Generally, extraction costs can range from $__ to $__, while implant costs typically range from $__ to $__. It is important to note that these figures are approximate and may vary depending on your dental needs and geographical location. After a thorough examination, your dentist will be able to provide you with a more accurate estimate tailored to your individual circumstances. We recommend scheduling a consultation with a qualified dentist to discuss your specific case and get a precise cost estimate.

Hello. I had a bone graft about 2 months and 2 weeks now. Is it normal that the gums where the bone graft was performed is still dark red ? The gums has not returned to normal color of my gums. Is that a normal healing process ? How long till it becomes the normal color of your rest of your gums ? Thanks

Hello, Thank you for reaching out with your question. After a bone graft, it is not uncommon for the gum tissue to appear dark red. This discoloration could be due to a variety of factors, such as increased blood flow to the area or minor inflammation in the healing process. However, each individual's healing process can vary, and it is best to consult with your dentist or oral surgeon for a more accurate assessment of your situation. In general, the gums gradually return to their normal color within a few weeks to a few months after the procedure. However, it is important to note that healing times can differ for everyone, and individual factors such as underlying health conditions and oral hygiene practices can also influence the healing process. To ensure proper healing and address any concerns, it is recommended that you schedule a follow-up appointment with your dental professional. They will be able to assess your specific situation and provide you with personalized advice or additional treatment if needed. Thank you for your inquiry, and we hope for a successful recovery from your bone graft procedure.
