Tip: You can actually set colour to {certain colour}, then set pen [colour] to {health * 0.4(the starting green colour/100)}

My advice is: take it one step at a time. Take a large problem and break it down into smaller and more manageable chunks. Like, for instance, I'm working on a full Just Shapes and Beats remake and I'm working on a mechanism to respawn the player at the last checkpoint. That's the large problem so I might break it down into detecting the Player's "position" relative to the song and the position of the checkpoint. Once that's done, I can actually start with the respawn logic and make sure the song still remains sync with the level. So, yeah, that's the main trick I've used and it's really applicable anywhere for any project you make.
