I fully support your Airstream jaunt across America tour idea and I would contribute to a crowdfunding campaign if you start one up. BUT...you have to take a detour into Alberta and visit the Alberta Distillers while you are here and let me take you around to a few other fanciful whisky havens in the area. #justdoit. As i understand the SWA labeling regs, in addition to the 3 defined regions and 2 sub-regions, _any_ Geographic Indicator that is factually correct according to current or ancient political usage is also valid. (Hebridean, Islands, Cambeltown are all currently in use but not on the specific regions list AFAIK.) So I see no issue with Banffshire or Perthshire Highland Scottish Malt Whisky. (Now that SWA is (temporarily?) out from under EU regulation, they /could/ choose to redefine how GI's work in Scotland, either in SWA or the Scottish Parliament, but that would be silly.)
