This very well may be an unpopular opinion but I think, comparatively, if we look at the "strongest", and "weakest" singers in boybands and girlbands, over the past couple decades, one can observe that the weakest singers in girlbands are generally stronger, vocally than their counterparts in said boybands. Nothing against Louis Tomlinson(I think he's a great vocalist), but he is generally viewed as the weakest singer in 1D - let's compare his technical skill to the weakest singer in Little Mix, Fifth Harmony, or GRL...for example. Normani K. for example, is generally viewed as the "weakest" singer in 5H - I personally think she is an AMAZING vocalist, capable of runs, vibrato, falsettos, and whistle register; but compare her technical vocal skills with those of Louis T - I think she wins hands down. Again this is just an example, and I know that in vocal groups, all members contribute to the whole sound. I am highlighting from a general observation made. I think Louis Tomlinson would CRUSH vocals in a pop punk band, for example, where vocal technique isn't as important(he has an amazing tone!). But ask Louis(or Niall, or Howie D., Joey Fatone, Drew Lachey, or Kian Egan) to do some vocal runs... I don't think it's going to happen.
