Back in the day I worked at a kid's store. Someone returned a kid's (nontoxic) nail polish set. The solid colors taste like Elmer's glue, I didn't try the sparkly one. I may have eaten to much of the hallucinogenic paste in kindergarten😂

Hello! Singaporean here! All I have to say is prepare for the hot and humid weather here. hahahahahah! But hopefully you will enjoy your time here! If you have the chance, go for a day trip or two to Johor Bahru, Malaysia which is our neighbouring country. The food there is much cheaper and its nice as well!

Thank you for the suggestion! I'm from Florida so I'm used to hot and humid but I expect it may be a little more extreme there haha. I'll definitely try to prepare myself.

When I worked in retail I came to conclude that kids really needed to do simple rounding, ie. 9.99 is 10.00, the tax is 9.25% call it 10%, so it's 1.00, add to 10.00 you get 11.00 and if they have that they have enough money. They should being able to do it quickly in their head, no phone. I've sworn to the retail gods that if I ever get kids they have to be able to do that before they're allowed to go shopping on their own. Enjoy your summer. Maybe just walk a block or two and give impressions of what you see? Just one or two times😊 I have a memory of a book in American History at JC called "To Serve the Devil" essentially groups of newcomers to the U.S. all got dumped on. Some more than others.
@margenasmr4 ай бұрын
Rounding is so so important! I'm glad I could support these students in that regard. And that book sounds so interesting and like a good way to supplement my own knowledge of U.S. history. Thanks for the suggestion!

Brave New World and 1984 are not sci-fi books any more, they are almost documentaries! Anyway, if you haven't read it already, I suggest you the non fiction follow-up "Brave new world revisited". It was written in the 50's, and Huxley analyses in detail the societal changes that were already happening in the direction of his books' scenario. A truly great essay imho.
