Thank you so much for this video. I followed it step by step when replacing the battery for a customer. It was a tedious job took almost an hour to complete the battery replacement. On a side note if you could also post the programming part through the obd port after replacing the battery would be great. Thank you.

This is borderline criminal behavior for manufacturer to place the battery so inaccessible that it becomes near impossible for a consumer driver to DIY and rely on dealership. Local MB dealership quoted me $175 for labor and $300 plus for the battery. Come on EU bureaucrats, do your thing.

Including recording, around 1.5 hours. The most time consuming is taking the screws out and back when they are drop. The clip on the top of battery also costs me a lot of time to figure out how to remove it at the beginning and put it back at the end, because the space is very tight, once you drop the clip into the battery cabinet, it takes time to get it back. I really can't believe Mercedes would put this huge battery underneath the tight passenger side space. I guess with that huge vehicle they couldn't fund a easier spot for it. Like the rear side of the trunk.

It is hard to tell you without a photo. There is a circle in the undercover and the jack point is a rectangle shape metal.

Hey buddy. My problem is mirror glass is loose and keep coming out. Its clips are not holding well. Can you guide how i can fit the flass properly

Not sure your actual issue. Is it because the clip is loose? As long as the clip is in place, it should be holding firmly. Try to press the mirror in different sections to make sure all clips are set. Also check is it one of the clip is broken, then you may need to replace a new one

They are different oil. Differential oil is MB235.7 And transfer case oil is MB 236.12. FYI

you don’t need to use Mercedes’ battery, check your local battery shop for best option for you. As I don’t sell battery, I don’t want to recommend any brand. Thanks.

Yes but I bet that is the easiest and fastest. Ive replaced 4 of these on my mls and gls and on the 4th i finally said fuck it ill go the seat way. Saved me a lot of time fucking around with the little fucken screws and wires. So on the GLE ill be the 2nd one to do it your way 😅

There is almost half of old fluid in the torque converter, should be drained.

thanks for sharing. I just followed the steps in the service manual and I don’t know this step of drain the fluid in the converter, I will do another research to see how to do that next time.

Thank you. In my view, this is the best video on how to replace the main battery. One thing missing, though: the need to do new "battery registration" with an OBD2 device that includes that function (from what I've found, a function available in only the more expensive $125+ OBD2 devices, and even some of them such as the iCarsoft MB II don't have it). This tells the charging system how much juice the battery needs to charge properly (older batteries need more juice). I'd also really appreciate it if you'd post of video on the auxiliary battery replacement (it's apparently under the rear driver's side seat).

@@ibiius6042Hi, I googled one device and asked the seller to confirm it can reset the battery. When I received it, there are some issues and the seller requested the factory to provide a fix to enable the battery reset function. I tried to reset but I can’t tell if the reset is successfully or not. Then I ended up return and refund the device. I will see if this battery can last as long as the original one. If not, when I replace the battery second time, I will search a device again.😂

It isn't the rigth procedure to do, the Engine has to run, gerbox in P position , when the gerabox's oil is around 40 degrees you have to use the tool in 3rd position to let the exced of oil come out of the gerbox.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, what you are saying is the right procedure but I have put notes in my video saying that I don’t have the tools to check fluid temperature, so I just filled the same amount of fluid back to the transmission.
