❤Such a positive Sunday journey! 😊 Enjoyed the conversation and the connections you both made together and above all for everyone that people, as angels, come into our lives for a reason.. never question it! Like you came into mine Kerrie!

Trish I so agree! People as angels come into our lives (and out of it and through it) all the time. Your comment took me back to the journey with my Mom and how many angels were drawn to her, and as a result to me. I could finally see, and appreciate earth angels. No doubt about it. Remembering how you and I met all those years ago, in the Radio Days. I'm smiling as I write this. Thank you for your light!. xx

I love snow too. In small doses and after I shovel out of the driveway. My big takeaway from this conversation: "You never know what people are going through." Give them space if someone is rude or grumpy start by asking yourself if you know what else happened to them today.

Beautifully succinct -compassionate awareness when interactions are prickly. If I could only go back and apologize to that young sales associate when I was trying to exchange the one size too small black pants I'd ordered for my Mom's funeral. She had no idea and I didn't share my situation. The Victorian tradition of wearing a black armband to let others know you are in mourning is a great one. A simple signal that grief is in the room, so give it space. In other news, I too love snow, but not as much as Denix.

Beautiful patient and loving interview. This was quite revealing. What a story. Writing a memoir is always going to be a double edged sword, especially for the pain it can cause the family still surviving. But in the end it is part of the healing process. Truth heals even when it’s painful. Ricardo Authenticity Rating is a 10. Highly recommend for those whose have lost and those who have survived lost.

Kudos Jessica and Kerrie! What a thoughtful, warm interview filled with wisdom and light, and love and encouragement. I especially appreciated these comments and how they’re interrelated: “It feels that the truth in the end has been kind to me” and “At a certain point I realized that the secrets I was trying to hold were too corrosive.” Thank you, Jessica, for your honesty and courage. Here’s to telling the truth to ourselves and others. Here’s to THE WIDOW’S GUIDE TO DEAD BASTARDS. I can’t wait to receive my copy!

Jessica’s book is a masterclass in how to tell a hard story in a way that honours all the feels. One of my favourite parts in the book is when she attends the widows conference. Who knew such things existed, and the beyond-the-veil moment she experiences there is pivotal, among many others.

Great podcast; empowering discussion on living life with intentionality and a path that isn't driven by society's expectations. Well done Liz & Kerrie! I appreciated the Book recommendations too -- I've found "What an Owl Knows", "An Immense World", "Alfie & Me" "What the Robin Knows" in the Edmonton Public Library collection. Yay for public libraries!!

First of all thank you for this wonderful comment! So very glad the conversation with Liz resonated. I deeply admire her desire to live her life intentionally, she has been a teacher and inspiration and continues to lead by example. It lifts my spirit to know the ideas we discussed resonated. Echoing your shoutout to public libraries! One title you might also like (and recommended to me by Liz Soria) is Elderwoman by Maria Van Eyk McCain. I'd be curious to know if you like it.

yes. yes. yes. I suspect question-askers struggle with obedience. I am so glad Marilyn realized she was not cut out for the life she thought she wanted. Choosing a career in education-and specifically arts education-really allowed Marilyn Potts to "fly her freak flag" and help so many students and peers feel seen and valued. We never know the influence we have in the lives of others. So very glad you enjoyed our conversation. Thank you for listening.
