I am wanting to install Kook's Longtube Headers with EGR/Emissions fittings and high flow catted Y-pipes but was told the car wouldn't run too well without a tune and was wanting to get your opinion on it and help. Hey man awesome video! I have a quick question, I have a 1994 z28 Camaro lt1 with a built 383 stroker in it. I have a crank no fire issue and I’ve done a new optispark and the lingenfelter LTCC coil on plug setup on the car and still a crank no start issue. I had 3 mechanics say the PCM is bad. What are my option? Do I buy a factory PCM and than take it and the car to get tuned or is there a place that can fix my PCM and save my tune possibly? I bought the car like this so I have no idea on anything engine spec wise other than it’s a 383 stroker and I was told I can get the PCM fixed and the tune is saved in the chip in the PCM and everything could be salvaged?

Hey Noe, thanks a million for the walkthrough. So for tuning I just advance timing until spark knock then retard a degree or two until no more knock. As far as fueling, when you are dividing your AFR by your target AFR that gives you the percentage change. I understand that, but, my question is: when you add the percentage change and it raises the MAP value does that mean KPH of the MAP raises as fuel does? And can you also subtract fuel instead of adding it if needed? Thanks man!
@Noeysuarez3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response, I leave the target values the same, and I add or subtract fuel from the ve table and MAF only

@@Noeysuarez hey Noe I appreciate your response. I understand the fuel side of things, however I am still confused on the timing. Thank you so much for making this video man. I am new to tuning, haven’t got my feet wet yet so to speak. I learned a lot from your video. I have a couple questions: 1- how do you know what your air fuel ratio is, how do I find it? 2- When changing cell values for VE or spark is it possible to highlight the whole table and make changes all at once? Or does not every cell need changed? 3- when changing the VE table what values are too rich and too lean? 4- last question, when changing spark if I wanted to bump up the timing how would I go about that? cell by cell one at a time until spark knock and then retard it by 2 degrees until it stops? Thank you very much sir. I hope to hear from you.
@Noeysuarez3 жыл бұрын
Hey sorry I'm just now getting back to you, to know your AFR you'll have to have a wideband o2 sensor installed in your car, you can definitely highlight the whole table to make changes, the answer to your 3rd question is, anything above 15 AFR is lean, and assuming your car is naturally aspirated, anything below 12 is too rich. Just highlight the cells that you want to change the timing on, I'm assuming you're wanting to do the WOT add until you see knock and then back it up like you said 2 to 4 degrees.

Absolutely, yes it's very similar, but you do have to watch it with JET, if the computer you're using is too new, sometimes when you're flashing, the program will exit and it will brick your PCM, also if your battery is below 11.9 volts while flashing, it will as well force the program to close and it'll brick your PCM, so be sure to have a battery charger or trickle charger hooked up when doing so!
