Now THAT's bread ! 😍😍 I can't afford a dedicated bread oven, but my large cast iron oval cocotte is doing the job just as well. But I have to admit that this is an extremely cute cookware, plus I love the Chambray delicate hue of blue. Lovely !!

why not use a dutch oven that you likely already own rather than getting this "bread oven" ? The only thing you'd use it for is just bread whereas the dutch oven has numerous uses.

How many of you have noticed an "off" chemical smell when baking bread with an enameled cast iron skillet or dutch oven??? Did you notice, too, how the enamel takes on a "burned" color??? I would stick with non-coated cast iron to be on the safe side.😮😮

You made a couple of mistakes, one being not adding enough water, and the other not soaking the extrusion die in warm water and olive oil. You could hear the motor straining when you switched to extrude, the reason being it's trying to push the too-dry dough through the holes. Notice that some holes didn't even extrude. It made the pasta, but if you do it this way continually you'll destroy the motor.

I like the bread oven, but had to laugh at that puny bread knife. An idea for when the house is cold (and I'll try it as soon as I get my Bread Oven, if I can find one in Cerise): Heat the cover to about 110 - 120°F in the oven while you're mixing and kneading the dough, and then put the warm lid over the bowl for the rise. The cast iron will hold and slowly release heat into the dough.

Used to make homemade pasta with my grandpa in a Takka machine (CTC is their parent company) all the time, comes out great. Unfortunately they are built with cheap plastic internal gears that wear down over time and you can’t find replacements to fix it, so watch that. Also try a pasta recipe that also uses half semolina flour, best pasta you’ll eat!
@Texaca3 жыл бұрын
...have someone 3D print new gears for you... lol

@@Texaca I’m not exactly sure how you get or make the specific 3D print patterns for that type of stuff. That wouldn’t be a bad idea though..

I got mine from a flea market for free. A friend was running the flea market and it was my birthday the day b4. So my oartner and I followed the instructions, from what I understand it was too moist..we actually had to feed the dough thrue the extruder. We will try again. If it should fail again it becomes a very large paper weight.
