Looks great! On the firewall of my 560SL there are two clips which hold the wiring harness up and against the firewall. I broke one when I was installing the engine. I have had friends make me a clip or two with their 3D machines, but the material used didn’t hold up to oils, fuel or heat. Within a couple of years the parts became dust just from the heat and outdoor elements. I was wondering what 3D material is used that can last? I don’t know anything about 3D printing.

Why did you replace this? What was your fuel pressures before you replaced?
@MMWA-DAVE3 күн бұрын
@@ace7821 nothing to do with fuel pressures - its for fuel tank ventilation. When it fails in the open state like mine did the fuel tank does not pressurise, the fuel goes stale very quickly and moisture can build up and rust the tank out.
@ace78213 күн бұрын
@ InnovaTech implies that my fuel pressures may be in the 120’s because this valve is bad. The concept might be that there is not proper return of fuel to the tank and therefore there is high pressures in the system. Are you saying this would be incorrect. I mistakenly bought a replacement 1) fuel tank valve and a 2) fuel purge valve replacement last night. I also ordered new diaphragms for my WuR.

I'm using 2 brand new ones of this brand (Kienzle Axion MCR 1120 DAB+) and they work very well with both W126 interiors. At least in Germany the connectors are plug and play. AFAIK it's the only brand that integrates well into that interior. But these units have some issues, some major: -Horrible amp sound. I'm using a separate external AMP with an integrated frequency filter to avoid this (Pioneer GM-D1004), which resulted in a major improvement in sound quality with my LS setup (The old Blaupunkt speaker were partially shot) -Really bad Bluetooth music sound quality, since it's only Version 2.0. I use a current aptx HD adapter (Ugreen 40759P) connected to the rear aux and USB channel connectors. Night and day difference -DAB sound bleeds into the Aux channels. I use shielding to reduce this -Display dimmer creates distortion noise when headlights are used. Dimmer is set to off One last issue I've not been able to fix for now, but it's not a big one: -The steering wheel control port is not compatible to any control unit I've tried. Only 2-4 buttons are recognized, only volume up being on the correct button. Does anyone know a unit or adapter that solves this? The manufacturer says no.

You can also play with the „fuck around and find out“-plug of the KE. There is somewhere near your Ke-Controller an pre set resistor plug, like the one on the EZL. You can also find the information for it on the interwebz. Got in the past an used 230Te, with all the fuel consumption. Some fucktard set the plug on 8 - enrichment in every situation. Because all rubber parts were just molten crap with all the „normal“ points you can find. Better watch out for these fuckers.

I've found a way to activate the fuel pumps not needing to remove the relay; at the left side of ex-mine 260E (left hand drive) there is a 3 pin plug that connects to the starter motor and curiously if you disconnect it with ignition "on" it activates the relay for the time it's apart, more convinient than "jumping" the terminals on the relay socket. Unfortunately here in Brazil the cost of a well done CIS service like this is prohibitive for mean people like me, the customs taxes are high and few shops would do it really well, most of the well trained guys are retired... I'm sad that had to sell my W124 but he new owner is already restoring it to brand new paintjob and swaped the M103 for a OM606...

@@vmlelectronics thanks, ill have to try that. BTW, i kind of have a remote control for the fuel pumps too. The remote immboliziser / central locking cuts power to the pump circuit after 30 seconds if the key is not put in position 2 after unlocking. So i use the remote for this yesterday too. Though the crappy relay in the imo is probably not capable of making and breaking fuel pump current without welding its contacts, so its not recommended to do this often.

Have you hooked up your gauge and tested the fuel pressures? Interesting to know how it pans out re. factory spec with a new EHA. out of the box. We all go to bed with 6.2- 6.4 bar and .4 bar differential on the brain!
@gerryvanzandt789415 күн бұрын
Nice work. I also only recommend a professionally rebuilt fuel distributor. We have CIS Flowtech here in the US who do excellent work, and then you have your K-Jet company there in Australia. I would purchase a spare EHA just to have, as you have two cars that use them. They will not be available forever, particularly as Bosch quits making more and more of their “vintage” parts. And I don’t trust anyone other than Bosch to make proper EHAs. They are a complex device. On a personal note, this past summer I purchased a 2007, one-owner E63 AMG with 35,000km on the clock, all paperwork. 507 HP. It puts my E500 to shame - it’s 50% faster 0-100km and a full 3-3.5 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile. The M156 is the last naturally aspirated V-8 that MB will ever make. Downside … it’s a W211, but those in the know tell me that the 211 is better than both the 210 and the 212 that followed.

Thanks for sharing the 124 problems. I changed the fuel filter on my '95 320E earlier this year due to a pinhole in the rubber supply side hose. The "Mann" filter replacement did not have the banjo, it had a nipple for the hose at either end. Had the parts guy show me a picture as I asked him why no crush washers for the banjo.

Nice and clear as always. I've just bought a low mileage 1996 W210 with the M104 engine and 722.5 transmission. It feels like a new modern car to me compared to my 124s. I see you have the same type of catalytic converters, did you have any problem with those? The only problem the car has is an unpleasant exhaust sound under load around 2000-2500 rpm, like a marbles in a can. I'm trying to figure out if a problem with a donut gasket somewhere could cause that but cat issues seem common on 210s. Cheers from France!
