Rewatching after years and it’s still so good and amazing

Stefan always tried to fix Elena and liking her as human and disliking the fact that she became a vampire even though Damon did it to save her from Klaus (without her consent), that now she wasn't the same Elena he once knew. She had struggled with his "diet" and went to Damon for help. Everyone else either didn't like the way she was or just simply sought for a "solution" to help her. Like she said, "Stefan wants to fix me," and when Rebekah compelled her to tell the truth she even put it that plainly. He still cared but she was changing with the tides and he couldn't, despite this Damon still stuck by her, even on her worst moments and mistakes and pushed her to the brink. But what i love about Damon is that he was selfless when everyone else says otherwise. He met her first and compelled her to forget, he let her hate him despite him trying to keep her alive. It's like what he said to Stefan about him always being there to keep her alive regardless about how she feels about him.
