Some insight into how I view Sicily, Newcombe and Day. James Sicily My belief is Sicily plays majority back as SDS said. Barrass, Battle and Scrimshaw will play the three key position posts. Weddle moving all around even more so solidifies Sicilys role as the general, playmaker, dominant defender. Most of the ball will look to go through him exiting by foot, but the sharing with others will come due to being a good side. However how I see this is he will be so far ahead as someone who will be in the A1 position to intercept that it will balance out, his ceiling can be massive and floor quite high too, especially coming in fit and with a lower price. For Sicily, the threat of going forward for more than patches is little, Hardwick more likely to, as is Weddle and a debut from Ramsden to take Dear/Lewis spot whilst they’re injured. There can also be big points up for grabs if he goes forward late in games to kick goals, which is a plus side not just a negative or threat. Jai Newcombe His floor was generally 90-100, the low scores aligned with an overall underperforming side. The fact for him that really excites me is that he performs and Hawthorn generally win or do well. He is the barometer of this side. Rounds 1-5 66, 66, 84 all decent losses. 110 when he performed for one quarter to drag Hawthorn back into it. 61 in a big loss. 129 win over North. 67 in a loss to Sydney. 95 win over Dogs. 136 win over St Kilda. 68 loss to Port (tight loss but a poor game). 3 wins and 96, 110, 97 scores. Generally low disposal numbers aswell, so the impact in regards to possession and scores is good. 122, 105 in two more big wins. 65 in a big loss. 110 in a win. 76 in a win, scores very spread and dominance in other areas for Hawthorn. 100, 105 (loss), 91, 162, 140 and the two finals games, 149 and 131 (loss). When Hawthorn losses big: 66, 66, 84, 61, 67, 65. = 68.1 (avg) When Hawthorn has close losses: 105, 131, 110, 68. = 103.5 (excluding the poor game it is 115) When Hawthorn wins: 162, 149, 140, 136, 129, 122, 110, 110, 105, 100, 97, 96, 95, 91, 76 = 114 (excluding one poor game, 117.2) Form backend of 2024: Non SC Last 5 games before finals: 29 disposals @ 82% DE 13 contested 8.5 clearances (5 CL) 1 goal a game 1.6 goal assists 9.2 score involvements 28 coaches votes over 5 games 100, 105, 91, 162, 140 120 avg Finals games V Dogs 35 disposals @ 80% DE 12 contested 1 goal 1 goal assist 10 score involvements 9 marks 6 inside 50s 149 SC V Port 31 disposals @ 77% 16 contested 6 clearances 2 goal assists 6 score involvements 6 tackles 4 inside 50s 131 SC Not specifically looking in the SuperCoach glasses, Newcombe has a good shout of being a good option in 2025. His backend form, the fact that he is such a barometer of the side that when he performs Hawthorn tend to win. This probably also comes into account with how people believe Hawthorn will go. But interesting, and an owned percentage of just 3% 👀 Will Day He and Newcombe are close options, both will play a little forward but more in the roles of Bont and Petracca types so not a lot of worry. Days injuries and body continuity is a worry, but with his talent being so high it could be a huge break out season, and being cheaper than Newcombe by 50k or there abouts, it could be a good option. High ceiling as a midfielder and these options as mid pricers are more popular in 2025 with so many who can provide brilliant value. Don’t think you can have all 3, def to start, but 2/3 would be a good shout.

Supercoach has been boring for years now. Everyone just ends up with the same players. The only way to beat someone is if you choose the right player to do the captain loop crap. And if you ask a "Casual" player if they know how to do the captain thing... They have no idea what you're on about and they also think it's cheating.. Something needs to change imo

With Harvey Langford looking ready to go round one, Pickett's CBAs likely to go up this season too, there's a lot of competition with other players for those midfield minutes but definitely one to watch.

Great video boys, I’m right there on the Ed Richards train with ya’s, one POD that wasn’t discussed that I personally really like is the newly appointed captain of the Suns Noah Anderson. He may have the extra bye but looking at his first 5 games he’s got West Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide, North Melbourne and Richmond, that’s a pretty good run of games for a midfielder to start the season, he’s got the ceiling but he just needs to up his floor of scoring and needs to up his away game average, at home his average last year was 127.7 and away his average last year was 87.4. With Anderson gaining the captaincy I believe he’ll flourish under that extra responsibility and go 110-115 this season, I’m trying to take more risks and have more fun with SuperCoach this year and Anderson in 2% of sides at M3 and Richards in 3% of sides at M4 is really tempting 😅.
