Thank you! And you're right, if you try to force something, or "dog bowl" it, as Zuckerberg called it, then it can have something of a Streisand effect: even if the tech or game is really good or cool, it gives the impression that excitement for it is fake and may cause others to just dismiss it or be more skeptical of it.

As only a viewer ill say i disagree with most your findings.It was overly boring and repetitive to watch. Every xenomorph encounter just looked exactly the same in repetitive corridors. Absolutely felt like a purposely incomplete game just trying to get a cash grab for the holidays . The only amusing part was your screams
@UnsponsoredVRGaming14 күн бұрын
I will say that the game is probably a lot better of an experience as the player than just watching someone play. And I am, admittedly, not the best live streamer... I don't think I have the most entertaining personality, and I'm sure my getting lost for an hour wasn't the most fun thing to sit through. As far as the game's completeness, it's entirely possible that the decision to make it a two parter happened later into production, but the end point for part one felt like an appropriate end point. As soon as you discover that you'll have to go back to the med bay, it felt like the start of a climactic chapter. Then *SPOILERS* Zula decides that she really does want to live after all, has the surgery to remove the baby xeno, closing out that arc, then you get a big climactic boss battle. It's somewhat like the difference between Kill Bill Volume 1 and The Matrix Reloaded. Reloaded felt like it just ended right in the middle of its story. Kill Bill V1 had a big climax with the Crazy 88, followed by the fight with O-Ren. Yes, it was part 1, but the first part felt like a whole movie, with a beginning, middle, and end. You could have cut off the cliffhanger to the game, and it still would have made sense. If after the boss fight, instead of getting the last minute call from "Ben", Zula had just gone back to her ship and flown off, it would have felt like an on brand ending for the Alien franchise. You got enough information from the data logs to piece together what was going on: they were creating android-xeno hybrids. Seeing the creature at the end only confirmed that.

I have the game; it's scary enough for me, the Xeno's are very good at sneaking up on you. If it's not, you can roleplay e.g sweep everything off a table with the side of your pulse rifle clattering to the floor [everything's physically simulated-even your arms and legs]; and place your gun on the table as you work-just like in Aliens. Makes it scarier, just like limiting use of the motion tracker, or placing it somewhere in the room. Some encounters are scripted, but most aren't-and I like that, as you never feel safe.

Thank you, again! It's entirely possible that the decision to make it two parts was made later into production, but I did feel satisfied with the big climactic boss battle we did get, and the story with the "thing" being removed from a certain someone helped to give her arc some closure. When (or if) they do release part 2, I'd love to do a deeper dive into what happened behind the scenes to drive the decision to make it two parts, and to make them think it was a good idea to wait until the day before release to reveal that fact.

I don't regret my time with it, but I just wish there was more character to the world. And I completely get the reprojection thing, it can cause some visual issues, and for some, cause or exacerbate motion sickness. Though, this is one of the few newer releases that does not use reprojection. There was one reviewer who mistakenly said it did in their review, but it does run at a full 90 fps.

I also hear that Tales from the Galaxy's Edge will be added to PS Plus Premium soon, so most of the games I would want! PSVR2 has OLED screens versus the LCDs on the Quest 3, PSVR2 has haptic feedback in the controllers and headset along with the Sense controller's triggers being like a PS5. PSVR2 also has the the PS5 pushing it for a lot more power than standalone getting it closer to a PCVR experience. PSVR2 has eye tracking which Quest does not. This was the last game I ever pre-ordered. Lesson learned. I had read it was Left 4 Dead but with aliens. 4 Players, Left 4 Dead gameplay and Aliens? How can you screw that up? Then I saw the "actual gameplay" and was amazed at how well it matched the movie. Pre-ordered! But on launch, it was a buggy mess. Dumb story. Haven't pre-ordered since. This game should have been so much better. Randy was only aiming for a 7 game. What kills me, is nobody is going to try it again. They fucked it up so badly, nobody wants to touch it. It definitely hurt the sales of Alien Isolation. Stealing from this game to fund another game? True or not, Randy Pitchford still fucked us.

I'm cautiously optimistic for Alien: Rouge Incursion, and I was happy to hear that Isolation is finally getting a sequel. I think the performance of this game, and Ryan McCaffrey's horrid review for that one really tanked Isolation's initial sales; he was clearly the wrong person for that review.

I'm sorry to hear you had a buggy experience. As I said in my playthrough, other than some texture pop-in in the second biome, the only major bug I encountered was during one mini-boss where she spawned into the floor. I died on this boss quite a few times, and for me, the bug only occurred the first time. Also, as I mentioned in the review, there were a few occasions where it felt like an enemy weapon would phase through mine while blocking; I think the combat just needs to be tightened up in general. While I did have fun with this game, it certainly fell short in many aspects.

@UnsponsoredVRGamingАй бұрын
It's a haptic vest. I went with the Woojer 3, which has more of a rumble effect, but isn't really directional. There's also b-haptics, which uses something like phone vibrators, and can be more precise, letting you feel gunshots or touches at a specific point. The downside to b-haptics is it's compatibility, as each game has to be programed by the developer (or mods in some cases) to use it. Woojer just works with every game.

Im really curious what happened during development because this game cant be what Skydance had in mind. The combat is borked as can be, and so many inconsistincies with overall game design. There's old footage of item crafting and the girl acting as a vendor, its not in the game though. I just hope the combat gets tweaked because its borderline unplayable IMO and I feel like a few tweaks would resolve the issues. I think it's the physics, it just feels truly awful during melee. Its near 1:1 to what Saints and Sinners offers and to think that kind of speed and movement would translate well to a sword fighting game...makes no sense to me, lol.
@UnsponsoredVRGamingАй бұрын
The combat is also held back by carrying over the stamina meter from TWD. It made sense in that game, but not so much here. More than that, they really need to entirely ditch the dodge cool down timer, it completely breaks encounters with enemies that can strike multiple times. There were also a few times during the first Behemoth fight that I'd dodge completely out of the way of its foot-stomps, and I'd get "sucked" into it, taking massive damage, almost like it had a magnet attached to it. I could literally see my player character being pulled into its foot after it landed.
