The off service train happens quite often as I pass by there daily months ago, in fact it happens almost daily and it makes me think why would they off service a train at this most important timing(6+pm), it makes the platform very crowded as the queues can be all the way close to the Dhoby Ghaut Platform and sometimes very congested to move to other areas of the platform. The off service train sometimes make the empty train arriving late(daily 18:26 at Macpherson) thus the empty train is completely filled to the brim at Macpherson ONLY and in the end passengers at Tai Seng/Bartley still need to skip and wait for the less empty ones. This is the consequences of an under-provisioned MRT line, and most of SG MRT lines such as Downtown Line, East West Line and North East Line are also under-provisioned. North South Line used to be under-provisioned without Thomson East Coast Line.

Yeah the crowd is the worst around 6:30pm as the train could not take in all the passengers due to its very low capacity. Whoever that suggest and approve Circle Line and Downtown Line operating as 3-car trains are brainless and it is the worst/ unforgivable mistake compared to the case of East West Line and North East Line.

You should try filming at Tai Seng(Harbourfront bound) around 6:15pm onwards, it shows how the circle line is seriously under-provisioned. People have to skip several train as the train can be full after taking passengers from Paya Lebar and Macpherson and the crowd only clears at MacPherson when the empty train comes from paya lebar middle platform occasionally. I wonder how the Circle Line is going to handle the peak hour crowd till 2030 when Cross Island Line opens

@@sadness3337 Once an MRT line is under-provisioned there is nothing much can be done to minimize overcrowding even if the frequency is good. One good example is the NEL, despite being a high capacity line it still struggles to handle crowds coming from Punggol Sengkang and Hougang. Once a train is late the crowds really builds up thus people at Kovan cannot board the train. There was once I experienced a 4 min gap around 7:50am at Kovan and I had to skip the next 3 trains because I couldn't even board the train

Sengkang IS the reason why trains are more frequent. Previously, it operated at 3 min freq, but the shear demand at Sengkang is why NEL is forced to do better All lines are targetted for 2 min ops(except for DTL to some extent). However due to factors, only NSL & NEL operate 2 min EWL has pasir ris as a limit. Trains frequently bunch before the sidings during peak. PSR turnback is suppose to fix this problem. Although yes, NEL Punggol has the same layout as current PSR,, it is able to get away with it due to it being completely GoA4 from ground up CCL cannot hit the 2 min freq for sustained periods due to its very limited fleet. The 12 extra C851Es should mitigate this problem DTL cant do 2 min due to the Bukit Panjang sidings(which alr causes DTL to bunch). Currently there no plans to fix this short term TEL doesnt do it cuz LTA/SMRT refuses to do better than 5 min, which has caused it to be just crammed as other lines, causing it to completely fail at relieving NSL. It most likely wont get better until RTS opens

Technically yes But idk if will go to EWL in 2025. I suspect why they confine C151C to NSL is to not spread such a small fleet across many depots(enginering wise). IF that is true, most likely scenerio for C151C to go to EWL is them being transferred to ECID to be do CGL when TMMP opens and they definitely at least 12 trains for 2 mins
