I played Crane and Ronin this arc. My fool-around clan was Spider. Loved the products, wish the arc was better balanced
@Korlash199010 күн бұрын
Spider is the clan that stood out the most to me when looking through these decks. Some awesome art in the clan.
@Knightfall810 күн бұрын
@Korlash1990 my first taste of L5R was back when Ninja was a legal playable clan... so I played them and would switch to Crane on occasion. I got back in during Emperor Edition and while I was stoked the Spider had a stronghold very similar to the original Ninja one, I didn't like that the spider's Ninja were too shadowlands-y. I preferred scorpion's conventional ninja, but I am against scorpion on principle 😆 it was quite a conundrum so I stuck with Crane as my main clan for emperor and ivory
@Korlash19907 күн бұрын
The shadowlands stuff is what i love about spider clan so far haha im into the whole demonic creepy vibe. For the LCG version i really liked scorpion and crane a lot. The ninja sneaky feel scorpion had was a ton of fun to play. Cran also had some of my favorite art in the LCG.

How you get that art work for torque contender?

Land destruction is my least favorite to play or play against in Magic. Maybe it would be more fun in Sorcery, but I have doubts.
@Forkedtt17 күн бұрын
Sorcery has a lot of site destruction
@Korlash199017 күн бұрын
Its not fun no matter what game id say haha but at least in sorcery you can always tap to play/draw a site so that kinda helps.
@alanhorton785911 күн бұрын
Land destruction is a lot less devastating in Sorcery than compared to Magic. Site placement in Sorcery is probably the most important mechanic in the game, and the player with the destroyed land usually gets 1st pick on the new rubble which is a pretty big downside for the player on the LD plan. It's possible your opponent could set up a LD with a site drop the same turn, but it's a bit of effort for that set up. Sorcery is hardly comparable to Magic in terms of gameplay, but if I had to translate it: it's definitely less devastating than Wasteland in Legacy. Possibly even less devastating than Wasteland in Premodern--a format without fetches or duels. Unlike Magic where your opponent can't flat out play against focused LD decks, in Sorcery it just makes opponents have to think a little harder every turn if it's worth playing a site in their favor.

Hah, dude I played you in the Beta sealed! I played Battlemage too, we played against each other during the 7th round (I believe). We both barely missed top 8. I've been watching your channel for a while and had no idea it was you that I was playing at the con haha. You're a pretty cool dude!

@@Korlash1990 Yeah we both lucked out with our Beta sealed card pools. My AL pool also left me with almost nothing to work with, but that was still really fun. There was definitely a charge in the air, everyone was riding a buzz and super happy to be there with their fellow Sorcery nerds, creators, and artists. I've still been trying to wind down from it haha. I'll keep watching the videos and hope to see ya at the next SorceryCon

Great haul and sounds like a blast! I really hope to go next year. Those tokens are amazing! How tempted were you to buy any artist proofs or original art? Just looking at the art in person would have been my favorite part. How did you like the legends sealed compared to the beta? I def feel (like your experience) that if you pull just bigger units you will win with legends whereas with beta it has a little more trickery/skill.
@Korlash199019 күн бұрын
The tokens are so cool, really wish i could have gotten more of the frog/soldier tokens lol. My girlfriend actually got really close to buying an original piece but decided against it last minute since we are saving for a home right now. So she got a print of it instead. Its the old tree man print we got i showed in my community post. I also enjoyed beta sealed a lot more than AL. Bigger set means bigger possibilities. AL takes a lot of skill and a good pool to do well and i didnt/dont have either of those lmao 🤣

The art you despise is the reason the game sold in the first place. So many boxes were bought in search of the "sexy" Cheshire cat art. Without it the game would have died on release.

You mentioned in your other NBC deck overview videos that you built a Cube for it. Just wondering what cards you had in the cube? Is it like X copies of these commons, 1 of each rare etc Also how many cards is the cube in total? Cheers
@Korlash199027 күн бұрын
I did have a cube made but it has since been taken apart. Basically ran 4 of all the C and UC, 2 of every R and 1of every UR/foil cards. Not sure how many cards in total but it was a lot lol more than enough for 4-8 people. Had a stack of starting locals for people to choose and even paired 4 copies of the base characters that matched each starting local that players got outside of the draft.

Interesting I just started thinking up a similar deck built around Stone Rain using the Kettletop Leprechaun and Land Surveyor. I used fire so I can sacrifice the Leprechaun to Cauldron Crones. My avatar was Archimago though. Those Fomorian creatures are great, as long as you can ramp them out, i'm using both the water and earth versions. Being immune to both bury and submerge is great.
@Korlash1990Ай бұрын
I love Cauldron Crones haha such good enablers for deathrite cards. Archimago is a ton a fun to play too. That and Druid are some of my favorite avatars. I agree with the fomorian giants too, they are surprisingly good.

Rhitta Gawr is, bar none, my favorite Sorcery art. I like a lot of the Sorcery art, but he feels like they took that old school art and added a modern clearness and finesse to it. When I opened one, it was the first time I really got a "Hell yeah" feeling with Sorcery. Anyway, thank you as always for some primo content.
@Korlash1990Ай бұрын
I really like the contrast in dark and light colors the artist uses. Really makes the art pop. Everything they do has that cool old but modern look.

is this better or worse avatar for the deck than spark mage?
@Korlash1990Ай бұрын
Its hard to say. If youre going for pure burn spark mage might be better but archimago has so much more versatility and its not shoehorned into playing air. Personally i like the options thats archimago has over spark mage but i also havent played enough spark mage to give a 100% answer lol
@HamMan215Ай бұрын
I like this Avatar for multicolor but just pure air. I think sparkmage is better for myself
@Korlash1990Ай бұрын
@HamMan215 Sparkmage could and might be better for the all out mono air burn strategy for sure. One day ill get around to playing that avatar more. Im almost certain ill be adding at least water to archimago over the coming months. Will be fun to upload more deck techs showing my deck building journey for that avatar.
