Permaculture and growing crops is more beneficial long term compared to pastoralism and grazing. I’m pretty sure rice can be grown in some places like sanaag. Less animals and more food

Somaliland young women are more motivated and ambitious because of edna. They fear to let her down. We are very grateful to have such a good person to inspire our young.

Diversity is key my friend. With the amount of coastline somalia has, they could be a coconut superpower in the region if they wanted to. Lots of useful products come from it. Pistachios, dates, bananas, pomegranate, olives, lentils, tilapia farms, grapes, papaya, watermelon. The right permaculture design can produce year round.

Can you grow cocoa beans please ? I am thinking if climate in Beer village located east of Burao is favorable for this plants. Not of course Beer only but I assume the whole landscape of Somaliland I guess no attemps has been made in the past, it may be possible why not.

Figs, Figs and dates are the main fruits that can be grown in shallow well drained limestone soil like where this date farm is , I don’t know why it’s not common, the specific species I linked is common in Yemen and Ethiopia. Also for your garden, plant garlic buds and basil to ward off some pests (they won’t get rid of the problem tho) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ficus_vasta kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmKUdaiIiNyfgJYsi=5ggrHhxKp7-YVzxE

Hahaha😂, the northern somali dialect is very difficult for me. How do you call sweet potatoes in Somali? Is it Barado macaan?. Well Alhamulillah I had loads of sweet potatoes in my farm in Kenya. Somaliland is in my wish bucket. insha'Allah.

Barak'allah🌷🍃sisters Allah ta ala has truly blessed you guys 🌷🍃 please pray for your garden!
You can cook and eat sweet potato leaves! However, you cannot eat the leaves or stems of white "English/Irish" potatoes, they are toxic and can be poisonous when eaten!
