Should I buy a Model 1 that comes with S&K?

I have 2 Model 2 Sega CD Consoles and one has the Sega Model 2 beside it, but the other has an extension for the Model 1 Genesis that sits beside it just like the Model 2. I only have 3 games, but love it! I recommend all video gamers to own one!

Just got mine through the post today. All boxed in great condition, not quite as good as this but still very good. It's replacing my MK2 sega CD that I've been using up until now. The MK1 looks so much better with my MK1 Megadrive/Genesis.

i actually have almost evreything that came with my genesis my dad had as a kid have the sonic game/all cables and connectors i have the manual and the game advertisements but i dont have the box and the stuff my dad thru away (the warranty info and warnings and etc :P)

I just fixed my model 1 Sega cd. I replaced the rubber band. It's is smooth now. ;)

I always preferred that Model 1 startup to the Model 2 :) My Sega CD died back in 1997 but I still have the mixing cable!

I remember my mom bought this with the sonic 2 bundle.. i was probably 3 can't really remember. the model 1 lasted me until 95' (i also can't remember what exactly happened to it) but my parents bought me the model 2 and til this day, it works perfectly along with my cartridges. i'll never sell this system. on the other hand, my xbox, gamecube, xbox 360 have all been sold over the years lol

The laser eye may be dirty causing it to not be able read any disc..which would cause a no-load problem. Try to gently clean eye with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip.

The number is still active I called it a year ago to fix my Sega dreamcast gdrom drive

That rattling noise is actually a wide ferrite bead that goes around one of the ribbon cables inside the Sega CD. Nothing to worry about at all.

I haven't seen one of these since 97 or 98. I was doing a seasonal job at a toyworks and noticed that there was actually an unused storage area over the game counters. What did I find stuffed back there with years of dust? A bunch of SCD Model 1's that nobody knew we even had, probably written off as "shrink" a few years prior. I told the manager and she said. "Just put them back". I sometimes wonder what happened to them.

What's so cool about this is that at the beginning it starts out as Sega meaning "Sega presents...", then it zooms to Sega CD.

I also have a Model 1 Sega CD too along with my original box. If your wondering what Football Game that was.. it was Joe Montana CD.. The game was just ok but it was a step up from Joe Montana's Sports Talk Football..And it contain actual advice video from Joe him self betweeen plays. impressive back then..pretty ugly now days:P

Shadow, besides the minor design changes (button redesign) between Saturn mod1 and mod2, do you know if there were any exterior dimension changes between the two models? I'm currently building a nice Saturn cab, and I am building it (close tolerance) around one of my model1 Saturns. But down the road I'd like to buy a model2 and retrofit into the cab, because of mod2's easy chipmod. Saturn and SEGA community, who have both models and can comparatively measure? Any help, or info is appreciated.

@SiLeNtShAdOw7777 Much like here in the UK. It is common to get a Mega-drive easier, but it's slightly harder to get a Genesis. (Even though technically they're the same system, with very slight differences)
