Let's calculate the odds for a White Tetris. Three of the seven pieces are white. NES tetris uses a true randomizer to select pieces for you, not the 7-bag system of modern tetris, meaning that each time a white piece is selected, it's at pure 3/7 odds every time. A Tetris clears 40 blocks, and each piece is 4 blocks. Therefore, it stands to reason that it would require succeeding a 3/7 chance 10 times in a row in order to achieve a White Tetris. However, as can be seen in this video, it's possible for blocks that are not white to fall and for the stack to maintain White Tetris Readiness if the non-white pieces are stacked exclusively above the 4 line cutoff for the Tetris, and this muddies the probabilities significantly. To add to that essay: The NES piece generator is not exactly a true randomizer as it performs a check to decrease the odds of getting the same piece twice in a row. The average chance for a white piece is 3/7 indeed, but depending on the last piece that was generated, the chance of getting a white piece is lower or higher than that. This muddies the probabilities even further as we need to find out which combinations of white and non-white pieces are benefitial to us.

It seems like him jumping out of his seat may have shifted the cartridge because his controller was still in his hand. So no, the game wouldn't have saved the score, but it would've been gone after he shut off the system anyway
