My sobo canister leaks water thru the lid whenever i turn it off, does anybody have the same issue?
@MounikaNethikunta-s5cАй бұрын
Hi, I bought the same recently but not sure how do i layer the media as it is more than week and the water is still cloudyI put mechnical at the bottom and the top 2 trays as bio media. Am i doing it righ? Please suggest.
@thehobbyist_findsАй бұрын
@@MounikaNethikunta-s5c for my first layer, I used thick and very fine sponge that filled out the whole bottom layer. I initially only used filter sponge (the white cloth type) but it wasn’t enough. I got the harder but flexible one and cut it to the shape of the bottom layer (usually sold in black or grey color) and it was as thick as the bottom container so there was no other space. The top are mixed with bio media (I also had a bag of charcoal there). Once I changed the type of sponge, the water was better. Hope this helps.

i have 30galon / 110 liter what should I buy? please sugest
@thehobbyist_findsАй бұрын
@SunDGod personally, I would go for the biggest filter canister I could buy because there is no such thing as over-filtration in aquarium, it would help to keep smaller tanks cleaner but if I picked a ‘just right’ filter for my aquarium, it would work but it’s not just the size or water capacity I have to consider but also what types of fish I have and how many they are. I had 3 blood parrot cichlids and their bioload is heavy. They eat and poop 💩 a lot 😅 that’s why my other filters didn’t work even if it was made for my tank’s water capacity so this one really helped. From the specs sheet I found online, the 1200 is recommended for 36-48 inches and the 1500 model is for 48-60 inch aquariums.

My tank size is 30x16x18 inches and holds 142 liters. This model is for 24-30 inch size aquarium. There are bigger sizes (1000-2200L/H) for bigger tanks.

The Artemia die when I sieve them with the sieve, is that normal?
@thehobbyist_finds5 ай бұрын
Some of them will die during the hatching process but if your batch of Artemia eggs doesn’t hatch mostly at all, it’s usually on the quality of the eggs bought. Some will put in the label that it has 80-90% hatching percentage. Some shops sell ones that have bad hatch rate so most don’t hatch or don’t last long when moved to fresh water. If you meant the live ones you harvested die soon, yes mostly they do after 2-4 days depending on the condition of water, temperature, aeration, population (overcrowding) and source of food. Their lifespan is about 3 months at most.

hello, may I ask what are the differences between VIP ticket and normal ticket except from the merchandise. Thank you
@thehobbyist_finds8 ай бұрын
hi, mostly it’s just about the merchandise which did not disappoint as seeing the price of some of it sold in the souvenir shop, it’s worth to get it thru VIP tickets. There were choices. My friend chose the bag and we chose the collector’s item- thick leather journal with pin, stickers, bookmarks and fridge magnet. They ran out of it when we were there but they shipped them to our address without extra charge. In other countries it says you will be given priority access to other parts of the exhibit if there’s a long queue but we went at such a good day, very few people so we didn’t need to line up.

I've just tried them. It's actually difficult to see where they fit in. As water soluble colour they aren’t very different to colour pencils and not as good as good old water colour. As pastels/crayons they are more robust than soft chalky pastels and oil pastels, but still look like a 'crayon' rather than pastel. Moving the wax around is harder work than pastels, and they really are a long way off being as good as oil pastels. I've got the 15 crayon pack. What (sort of) works is to make an underpainting with crayon plus water, then use the crayon on top without water, and work on the mark making. To get an image to look better than a crayon colouring in exercise is hard work.

Where is the on/off switch for the filter ???? I got the 1500 with uv.
@thehobbyist_finds9 ай бұрын
There’s no on/off switch. It works automatically when you plug it in the electrical outlet. It’s for this reason why I use an extension cord with its own switch, that way, after cleaning it and setting it back up, I just turn the switch of the cord on and it will work.

hows it doing now? noise, leaks, any deterioration in flow rate or impellar damage?
@thehobbyist_finds11 ай бұрын
So far, everything works fine. I haven’t changed any parts, UV light and impeller are still the original ones that came with the box. Flow rate is good. Every time I clean it which would be once a month or every 3 weeks, I just make sure that I spray the impeller with a bit of pressurized water to remove any gunk that may be stuck in there- same with the UV light, I haven’t removed the cover that protects it but just spray some water in to make sure it’s clean. I think if cleaned in a regular basis at a reasonable length of time (not too often/too long), helps in preventing damage. I’ll upload a short video of the canister status this weekend.
I bought this set after looking at many others. I got rid of the white and added the professional grade indigo. I also added a raw sienna and a Hooker’s green in pro grade. I stored the sponge in the water cup. I plan on upgrading all the other colors as they get used up. I really like the way W-N designed their set. I work on small paper (4X6) because my subjects are small (frogs, turtles, fish, squirrels, etc…). It’s a great field set for me.

What to do if fish stuck in filter
@thehobbyist_finds Жыл бұрын
There’s a cap with tiny grills/holes that would prevent fish from being sucked in. If you have smaller fish, you can add a sponge to this so it’s safe for any size of fish in your tank. The suction is quite powerful. There was a time I was cleaning the inlet tubes and didn’t realize the cap was loose and it fell- my juvenile angel fish went close and its head was stuck in the tube. I panicked and turned the machine off and wiggled the tube and it went free. 😅😅😅 I’m still using the same filter now, loving it, no issues. Btw, the angelfish is fine and still alive and bigger. If little fish are stuck, turn off the machine immediately and open the filter tank if you see them going inside the long hose, see if you still can get them from there.

I love this set. It was my second artist brand after White Nights which is considered Artist grade by some but I love them, and then W&N professional. I bought this set and the the 12 pan colors of inspiration set with the purples, lavenders and granulating colors like moon glow. I slowly filled the other 12 empty pans in that tin and the separate 24 pan tin that can with this set buying the tubes of Daniel Smith. This 24 set and the empty 24 pan and the 12 set colors of inspiration with the empty 12 pans just give you so much room to experiment and then find your own colors that you’d like to add. Daniel Smith makes me so happy- it feels much newer and more refreshing than the older more established brands that have been around for like over 100 years and use the same stuffy old colors. They bring a lot of new mixes and pigments, super granulating and the Primatek line! They’re a just an amazing brand and any time I am feeling a little bit art blocked I can pull out my DS tins and get so much inspiration from just playing with the colors with no plan. I love their versatility. Thank you for the video. I know it’s hard and expensive to compare them to other artist brands. I appreciate that you compared it to student grades so we could see the difference that comes with Artist grade paints and people looking to purchase their first expensive artist grade set can see if they’re worth it to them. I look forward to seeing your artist collection grow and how you use them. I hope you love these and they bring you so much happiness and many many hours of painting. ❤

Thank you so much for the sharing and feedback. 💕 I feel your passion in art and the energy and joy it brings you. I totally agree and I feel the same way about Daniel Smith. It’s still my top fave, even though currently in my ranking it’s a tie with Schmincke Horadam, I feel that I’m using these more and yes, I’m starting to build my own collection- really quite addictive! 😅 I follow their IG and love the deliciousness of the pigments they mix together and I do the same- experiment with the colors that I have. It’s like making magic with the brush as my wand 🪄and watching it continue to unfold as it disperses, granulates and dries up. 🤗 ✨

Thank you. If you aren’t sure, but want to try it out, Jackson’s and other shops also sell individual crayons, you can pick the primary 3, mix and match to create other colors-see if you like it before investing in sets. This is my go-to set when I’m in a hurry or it’s inconvenient for me to bring brushes and water container. I just use them as crayons and when I get home, I then use my brush. One time, my brush pen broke while traveling, I loved that I could still continue and render the colors in that fleeting moment as opposed to taking a photo and doing it much later once I had my new brush. This set keeps my creative momentum going. I also got additional ‘convenience’ colors for skin tones and depending on what I’m planning to work on, I swap some of the colors in the tin can. 🤗

My wrist is just about 6.5 inch and the strap could be tighter. One way to find out is to try it out if this model is available in your local Casio shop. Or opt for the smaller version of this which is the CA53W-1, it doesn’t have the data storage feature but same retro feel. Love them both.

@JcSontinou About 2-3 days for feeding. I tried separating some to a different container after hatching to grow them to full-sized adult but so far, I could only keep for about 3 weeks- the longest.
