I was always told that wanting to be married was making the desire for marriage an idol. I had a lot of emotional problems that I was unable to connect in a relationship! Now I want nothing to do with dating or establishing a relationship. I live by myself and don't socialize with women at all. And lately I have been hearing sermons on how bad sexual sin is and how it guarantees the person a one way ticket to Hell. I don't worry about that now!!

I am so sorry about this pain and emotional hurt you have experienced. Praying for you right now. Desiring sexual intimacy is a good, God-given gift. There has been so much hurtful teaching on sex that is shame-based. It creates so many relational and marital issues. I hope you will find continued healing. -Pastor Garrett

@legacyatascadero I know that sexual intimacy within the bonds of marriage is a wonderful blessing and gift from God. Sadly not all believers get to experience this gift. We live in a fallen, broken world.

right?! Sex was shameful , taboo. Anger, disobediance, sexual desire, romance, and all other natural feelings.......I spent my life feeling shameful over rather than being able to talk about them, accept them and navigate through them in a healthy way

Very true!!! I was just thinking last night of all the lives lost and how sad this all really is for a lot of people. Taking the focus off of self and looking through a different lens... God’s lens.
