When I hear this beautiful hymn I become nostalgic and i remember the dusty classroom at Paterson high school in Port Elizabeth South Africa.There our musicmaster Mr Edward (Ted)Seloane directed our musical talents to sing this beautiful hymn.Yes outside we faced apartheid and all its harshness of deprivation poverty and hunger but for that few moments our souls soared in freedom and beauty.Thanks Mr Seloane in your beautiful handwriting on the board and how you told us the story of Jean Sibelius.He .(Sibelius)also suffered but out of his sufferings came beauty.Let us also create something beautiful out of suffering in South Africa
