@@itsfairyhere6727 Check out the video description for the link to the blackwork book I’m learning from. It’s a great resource and all the patterns are in there 💕 Most of these patterns are stitched with backstitch. Here’s my video on how to do backstitch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqHcd4ihr52Ai6csi=RhL4mgT0_R9PFg1_

How do you start the first stitch? Bring needle up from back or start from the front? Do you have a video on how to start a pattern? Thanks
@sweetthorn2 ай бұрын
Hi - I bring the needle up from the back of linen, so that the ends of the thread are always at the back of the work. I don't have a video showing the start of a pattern, but most of the designs are in backstitch. The Royal School of needlework has brilliant resources for blackwork here: rsnstitchbank.org/technique/blackwork

I think they can? Does the auto-translate option work? You should able to add your own translation which I can review and approve. Let me know if it's not accessible. Thanks for asking

These look great. Well done for working on something so intricate. What I found particularly interesting was that the patterns and overall sampler looks a lot like zendoodle, which was supposedly "invented" quite recently as a method of doodling, but I see that this dates back as far as Chaucer. It's reminiscent of how pixel art is just digital mosaic.

Thanks so much - I'm enjoying seeing it all come together. I'm sure the history of geometric art is very ancient. It's expressed in so many ways over and over again - always fascinating.
