@@Doubledusss790 For the past couple of years, every patch has been "non-associated" junk. Panini has been the worst about this but Topps isn't exactly perfect either, unfortunately. I remember when "player worn" was laughed at and real "match worn" stuff was king. I think most enthusiasts & collectors would be glad to have the undefined "player worn" over a "non-associated" patch that is no better than what you could buy yourself from a retailer. 🤨 Thank you for watching and commenting! 🤓⚽

@@southernsocceridiot1986 I feel let down a lot recently, the big breakers and paid for channels seem to get amazing pulls, whenever a non sponsored guy like yourself pulls a box it is absolute trash like this one. Also non associated patch should not be allowed at all, minimum player worn at the worst. Such a shame to see the hobby go this way, it's always the same, increase in popularity then greed comes in. This happened in the junk wax era of the 80s and 90s also, they mass printed and over produced and ruined the hobby for almost 2 decades, I fear the same thing will happen now.

@@Doubledusss790 Very well put. I still don't know if breakers get "loaded boxes" or if they get the hits more often simply because of the amount of product that they open. I can see an argument for both but yes, it's incredibly rare when a "normal collector" like myself gets a truly huge hit. I will agree that the card companies seem to make sure that the big hits get released/found very early in the product release to generate hype. It's very rare these days that the "chase cards" are left undiscovered for years on end now. In truth, seeing the big hits so early in the release actually makes me far less motivated to buy the product. I'm not simply chasing the biggest 1% of the 1% hits but it would be nice to know that I at least have a chance to find one of them. I actually think that we are already in a junk wax era for soccer. There is far too much product being printed for the amount of people who are actually involved in the hobby. Soccer is unquestionably the most popular sport in the world but soccer card collecting is still a very small corner of the hobby when compared with other major (American) sports. The print runs need to be adjusted down to reflect this fact, in my opinion. 🤓

@@Brianccards I filmef this last year and I think that the cards are still in the box. I didn't even bother to file them away with the rest of my colored & numbered cards. @@WilsonRips If I were by myself, then I would have bought them all immediately. My wonderful, loving wife was with me and helping me carry some stuff. She never once told me that I couldn't spend money but I didn't want to just go wild. She's the best wife I could ever imagine and her support is priceless. BUT, I do want to buy nice things for her so I'm trying to budget more attentively. 😇🤓

@@WilsonRips I haven't really focused on Chrome or Sapphire this year. The print runs seem absurd. But yes, as you said, Sapphire always looks beautiful. I was hoping to score a box of Topps Dynasty but it looks like boxes are going to be north of $2500. That brings tears to my eyes and also to my wallet 🤯😢

I was suspicious on whether it would gem but being so stunning, as you said, I just had to give it a try. Those damn Merlin cards are always squirrelly with the centering but I thought that it was worth a gamble!

If you like the Mudryk card then let's make a deal! 😁 PSA can definitely be tricky. I knew the Pedri & Joao Pedro cards were going to be close but I was 100% certain that the Vargas card was perfect. Hopefully, PSA will (someday) introduce sub grades and/or grader notes to the slab or at least give you a link where you can find out exactly what was "wrong" with the card. 🤔🧐🤓

I tried to be positive about the box but the product is pretty disappointing. Price is definitely not congruent with value, unfortunately

That might have been my worst box ever from Obsidian. I wasn't enthusiastic before filming and I think it's because I could feel a crap box coming on 🤔🙄😂

Obsidian is by far my favorite set. The colors really stand out against the all black 🤩⚽

I've submitted 3 patch cards to date that I can remember (2 Messi s and a Gio Reyna RPA). All 3 have gotten Gem Mint 10 grades. That's probably as lucky as I'll ever get in my life! Thanks for the view and comment, amigo 😎🤝

I filmed this a while ago so prices have definitely dropped. At $90ish a box, I still think that they're a decent product because of the quality of the product. I really do hope that they continue to produce Renaissance, especially if Messi & other big names will be included. I'd be very happy getting a Busquets, Jordi Alba, etc. 🤩⚽
