WHAT he said.....that's pretty much USC & Notre Dame's gameplan against the Cardinal every season. Yet, pesky Stanford remains 5-5 vs ND in their last 10 annual meetings, and 5-5 in the Los Angeles Colesium... The entire ACC has beaten ND only 4 times in last 30 scheduled tries, and the only other team that's 5-5 in their last 10 regular season visits to the Colesium, is a team with a payroll bigger than Ohio States'....The Oregon Ducks. SYRACUSE should win easily... or, it could go the way of CAL-Auburn......I can't believe these two have never played? They tried to.get in a conference together in 1959 when both were still fairly decent.

Interesting take on game. Don’t think stanford projected finish in ACC (last) is sane…they’ve had some brutal schedules last few years. Not sure Syracuse is used to playing teams like USC, Oregon, Notre Dame, Utah etc.. almost back to back. So, my guess is an ACC shocker is on the way….

THE dirty secret is no Power team has played as tough a schedule as Stanford has over the past 15 seasons. 6 road games is the norm with South Bend always on the even years. A quirk USC leveraged so they could play ND in the Colesium on the even years, and keep their road travel to 5 opponents per season. It was a result of the California compromise that enabled UTAH and Colorado to play at least one road game in Los Angeles every season. This effectively hancuffed Stanford with an out of balance 10 game power schedule that no other power team in FBS had to endure. Washington and Oregon NEVER played ND and USC in the same season and the years they were highest ranked, they avoided both altogether....Not Stanford though. They were the only PAC team with a guaranteed "Big Boy" schedule every season other than USC with their leveraged version. GO look at USC's B1G schedule, it's much easier than they were used to playing in the PAC12. In USC's defense, they've never played an FCS team in history, but they do strategically schedule a weak G5, so, their schedule is still tougher than your average P5 power.....but, they never had to play the murderers row round robin of the much stronger PAC 12 North....unlike CALFORD. UCLA, Utah, California, Oregon, and Washington have never beaten Notre Dame, not even once. AND yes the podcast is quite correct, Stanford is widely predicted to finish LAST, in nearly every poll I saw over summer....That may yet be the case. Such were depth of the personell losses when David Shaw retired. I think at maximum the ceiling is a very low level bowl game, but they could just as easily lose to Wake Forest....very hard team to predict.😊

Mr Holser please don't boast about loudly. That's great chalk board material for teams Stop it. Use milder vocabulary please!!! Words like Crush or blow out only give the Cardinals psych up material. Also your guessing on most of your opinions 😮 I'll be watching.😂

I'm surprised these two schools have never played each other previously. Syracuse was one of the schools that was slated to form the first coast to coast Super-conference, which had it gone through, I believe, would be more powerful than the B1G of today, and probably coould have scooped Ohio State and Michigan instead of the other way around. It was the height of the mid century modern era, and would have included all 4 CALIFORNIA majors, plus Washington... Then Notre Dame plus the 3 service academies. Plus Big East powers PSU , PITT, and Cuse. They were going to call it the Airplane Conference due to the jet age that made it possible...very forward thinking. Everyone was for it, but the Pentagon pulled out....A grave mistake that has caused all these teams to lose lustre in the ensuing 65 years, and probably cost them a few national champion opportunities along the way. So here we are, a patchwork, half-assed solution to the original idea, with pretty much every team out of real consideration. ---------------- Syracuse should win this pretty easily. Stanford had the youngest roster last year, their entire starting O-line left, (50% to Harbaugh's Michigan), plus much of the experienced defense split when Shaw did. That being said by the end of the season I think they held Cam Ward to 7 points, and were threatening a 4th quarter lead in Palo Alto vs the NC runner up Huskies... right before being pummeled by DJU with a real O line, and then Notre Dame..... The PAC was just a really difficult conference when the worst team is Wazzu. )

against Georgia Tech, linebacker Derek McDonald and defensive end Fadil Diggs each had seven tackles, leading the team. Diggs was primarily used as a linebacker in this game, and made two of the Orange's three tackles for loss. Syracuse's defense made several adjustments in the game without star linebacker Marlowe Wax, including moving to a three-man front and moving Diggs to the second level. These adjustments helped the Orange improve their Pro Football Focus tackling grade by 28.2 points

HOOVER shredded UCF. TCU controlled nearly the entire game.TCU really only lost control of the game because a strip fumble in a late UCF drive was awarded back to UCF on a questionable call. It was enough to turn the tide and put them in position to complete a comeback and steal a game. Stanford( with one of their weakest rosters ever, widely predicted to finish botton 2 ACC) controlled much of the game(12 1/2 minutes vs a little over 13 for TCU), and lost much in the same way they've been losing a lot of games in recent years. Failing to convert 4th downs deep in their own territory, advantagous field position for the opponent, that puts the game well out of hand. I am very surprised these two schools have never played each other previously. Syracuse was one of the 12 schools slated to form the first coast to coast Super-conference, which had it gone through, I believe, would be more powerful than the B1G of today, and probably coould have scooped Ohio State and Michigan instead of the other way around. It was the height of the mid century modern era, and would have included all 4 CALIFORNIA majors, plus Washington... Then Notre Dame plus the 3 service academies. Plus Big East powers PSU , PITT, and Cuse. They were going to call it the Airplne Conference due to the jet age that made it possible...very forward thinking. Everyone was for it, but the Pentagon pulled out....A grave mistake that has caused all these teams to lose lustre in the ensuing 65 years, and probably cost them a few national champion opportunities along the way. Be prepared for several losses is my attitude after watching BC, UNLV, Miami and NCS games. I’m not making predictions but would not be surprised if we lost to all of them. If I was a betting man I’d say 1-3.
