I haven’t been to Texas but Sky Meadows State Park hosts monthly astronomy nights and is about an hour away from DC. Highly recommend! Extra tip. To save the $20 admission fee, you can get free admission to VA parks with an REI receipt.

Oh REALLY?! We live near DC but never knew this. We’ll have to go this year.

I have enjoyed for some years the country at Obstruction Point as I like the high altitude alpine country out there ! The road to that area leaves the hurricane ridge parking lot on your left side , well worth the drive out there !
@thetravelingstewarts26 күн бұрын
That must be such a stunning area!

Thank you for another informative vlog! It appeared to be a perfect weather day but I didn't see a lot of visitors. Were you there mid-week or did you just avoid filming a lot of other people. I have been to Mt. Vernon a couple times but clearly I should return without a primary focus on the house. Thanks again!

We’re glad you liked it! It was actually a pretty busy day but it was very hot outside, so I think a lot of people were in the museum with the air conditioning. 🤣

Benefit Street, a short walk from downtown, is the street with an array of the oldest houses in New England. Worth the walk for its entire length.

Fremont Lookout is nowhere near as a banger as Burroughs. Mount Baker Nick Zetner series. Like the Beartooth right off the road puts you in wilderness. Cascades is trails. Off trail is straight up down. Brutal. Rivers have brush growth if no trail.
@sluggotinfantrymanАй бұрын
If you turn around look east. From Burroughs. The farthest pointy peak is Mount Stuart WA. Esmeralda Basin side.

Rainier is a beast. Huge. Sunrise, is it. Chinnok Pass. I liked going below bridge up Nisqually River. And Cowlitz gorge. Naches Loop west side is gorgeous shorty. Sourdough is awesome except the 1.5 miles back up above road. Hwy 410. Baker is killer too.

Worked at Canaveral Seashore but like GA coast the best. Islands. Tybee guy. But I am never crossing the Mississippi again probably not going past Colorado. RATTLESNAKES Eastern are huge! GA has more species of snakes than any state. My Dad's friend's buddy was killed by a coral snake. Chewed on his ear asleep camping.

Rocky is kinda Charlie Brown compared to Yellowstone Yosemite. BUT. Mount Hallet in park hike. Go out to Wild Basin if you want big peak just walk Mount Lady Washington. Its 13k looks directly at Longs and Meeker. INDIAN PEAKS from Allenspark is the sht. Gorgeous. Mount Audubon. Banger. Estes Park is fun town if not way busy. Bear Lake to Hallett. Easy. I like Sand Lake TH then up back of Meeker. I go straight up the ridge off trail. INDIAN PEAKS FOLKS. Mount Lady Washington.
