Just watched your video in 2024. I hope you continued with the Belgian version. Hopefully with more exposure you were able to pick up on the brilliance of it. Not sure how you could have mischaracterized Daan and disliked him so. Daan was likable from his introduction but the series does not develop his character to the depth of the others. He isn’t the main story. It seemed that you were puzzled by some of the quirky visuals which are often hilarious but reveal clues about the subplot to the audience. I agree with the others who said that the humor is “Belgian” but everyone I know here (American) loved it whether or not they had any experience with Belgians. Another commenter here said that the Belgian series challenges the viewer. That was spot on and probably one of the reasons I was hooked and had to keep watching. The cinematography of the original series is excellent as well as the music and the literary/cultural references. The minutiae rules the show as everything is well placed. I think the acting is superior in the Belgian series as well. In fairness I only watched a bit of the British one and just couldn’t bring myself to continue. The fact that so many tried to remake the original speaks to its excellence. I would tell anyone interested in the series to insist on the best experience with the original.

Although its hard for her to come through because she is stallones daughter and the weight of that expectation, She should have waited till she was older. She has to work on her presence on screen which comes from having a personality and life experience. Both take time in normal people. Eather way people will hate on her because she did use the family shortcut.

Hey genius -a "conspiracy theory" is the theory that two or more people have conspired to commit a crime. Who's conspired here. What's the conspiracy conspired by conspiring conspirators. Where's the crime genius. There is none.

I could see either. I could see it as Allison dissociating, but I tend to think of it more as she was just on autopilot for that 15 years and the moment she enters the kitchen in the first ep, she’s basically awake now. The way she looks around at the kitchen and sighs, it’s almost like she’s finally realizing she’s not happy. They say Patty woke up 4 yrs prior to the events of episode 1. I think this is what makes Patty soften toward Allison inevitably. She saw the stereotype of ‘Barbie’ while Allison was asleep because she was on autopilot trying to convince herself she was happy, which came across as weakness and complacency to Patty, but now that she’s awake, she finally starts to relate to her and empathize with her struggle. Let’s not forget Neal either. He was almost a completely different character after he woke up. When he entered the real world, he had to face just how much of an enabler and toxic person he is and tries to find an identity outside of Kevin. As much as I loved Neal and Diane’s relationship, I think it ended the right way. If Diane had taken him back, he would have fallen right back into his same patterns minus Kevin. I love that Diane was honest in the fact that she couldn’t take him back but left the door open on him to work on himself. I think if he does do the work, he and Diane could be a really good thing. I almost feel like it was some kind of shared reality that Kevin somehow controlled, so when everyone starts waking up, he starts to realize he’s losing his power. Allison saying I want a Divorce, standing by it and not humoring Kevin’s gaslighting is the final thing that pulls him into the real world. In summation, his influence over everyone is gone and he has to actually sit and face the monster he truly is without the security blanket of the sitcom world.

How much acting have YOU done? Do you have any idea how hard it is to go from runway model to television? Well, I do! And it's freaking HARD! She did a pretty decent job in my opinion. And remember, she's only 22!!!! She hasn't been doing it long enough to be so critical of her! Geez guy, lay off!

Anyone looking for responsible social or dietary guidance from a celebrity podcast may very well be missing the point. The chaotic and inconsistent format you find so troubling was one of my favorite aspects of The Always Sunny Podcast. I enjoy encountering perspectives that are unlike my own. If I didn't, I never would have become a fan of the television show.

In the finale, Kevin tells Allyson, you're nothing without me, that's a little fourth wall breaking as saying "this is my show and you're only an extra". That's what the sitcom world is, the space in which people become extras of their own lives due to some narcissitic person making everything about them. With Alysson it started with his father's death and being alone with her mother, and then with Kevin. After Allyson started to break free from Kevin, they all started doing it to live their own lives: Neal making the biggest break and arc of the story in a violent way. To paraphrase Gumball: It's only funny when it happens to someone else... Great video!!! Thanx!!!

I'm not sure if I'm making this up but i notices that just before that line he looked at the camera or where the audience would be. He needs the audience to cheer him on.

I always thought it was like how every body plays apart in other peoples life, like Allison plays the victim, Patty and Neil are followers and need someone to tell them what to do, and Kevin and Allison‘s mom are in sitcoms because they’re selfish and everyone exists in “their” world.

I don’t think Allison is using the sitcom to disassociate. There are many scenes where Allison is not present for the sitcom antics. I think the sitcom scenes are a way to draw attention to how abuse is glossed over in society, by contrasting it against the drama scenes and the real life consequences of sitcom characters behaviors.

I always thought that the sitcom was just to show Kevin's narcism. It's how he genuinely sees the world. That's why I figured it breaks in the last episode, because this world he build to make his narcism happy just crashed
