I nymph with echo carbon XL, and I love it. It's pretty durable, and I have put a lot of fish in the net with this rod. I dry dropper and euro nympth with the echo rod. However I do want to upgrade at one point.

Which wet fly would you suggest for native brookies?

Great series! 40 years ago I got to do the same trip. The fishing was awesome back then. It is so sad to see it all burned.

Fishing is still awesome! Although I’m not sure what it looked like before the burns… that’s some crazy stuff

I been fly fishing for 27 years, first combo was a $40 Martin combo with cheap pack flies. Caught a 6lb rainbow. I have upgraded to gloomis over the years and naturally am way better than what I was at the time, but to get into it I encourage start cheap.

The reason why you haven't coughed a fish on the spinner is cuz you are at a creek that only has trout

Regardless of species, I tend to do better on fly it doesn’t require going into deep water

Thank you for incredible video! Hello, I’m a new for the fly fishing. I’m musician, play violin and viola. I’m originally from Ukraine. In Ukraine fly fishing is not popular, I would like to introduce fly fishing for the Ukrainians and I need a support. I will be very appreciated for any help and support in this. I just got my orvis combo, I’m very low on the budget, and don’t know what kind of flys I need to have. Will be very appreciated for any suggestions! Thank you so much for your understanding.

What beautiful scenery and such a glorious stream and what beautiful fish. You're a real star casting with all those trees and bushes around. The videos are far better without any music, keep them coming.

What rod length and weight, and line type are you using in this video? You making casting look so effortless 😮 Edit, you clarify this at the end of the video, keep it up, awesome content 💪🏼

I’d love to see you make a video sometime explaining how you read the water you fish, it’s incredible to watch your casts and fly placements so I’d love to know how you see a stream when you look at it

Who makes this fly rod?! I remember slowing down a precious video and zooming in to see the make once because I was interested in grabbing one. But I neglected to write down the company’s name.

One question I have is what do you do when you use up almost all of your tapered leader ? Is that when you converge to a tippet or when you use some low pound test flouro or mono?
@hardmanfishing4 күн бұрын
Yeah usually you can elongate the life of your leader by attaching tippet. But obviously at some point you just need a new leader.

If you ever travel to another state, you should go to Utah and do the Utah cutthroat slam! There are 4 species of trout you need to catch. Such as the bonniville cutthroat, Yellowstone cutthroat, Colorado cutthroat and the bear river cutthroat! You can go to the website and it will show you a map. I don’t know just spitting an idea if your interested and would be a fun vid to watch and the fishing is great
@hardmanfishing4 күн бұрын
I will for sure do Utah at some point! I'm working through the western states but I can only do one a year usually. Last year I did California and I've been to Colorado a few times.

@ryanforrest42116 күн бұрын
is there a reason you have your line looped around the rod before the first guide or is it just an accident?
@hardmanfishing4 күн бұрын
That was just an accident, I've noticed it happens when I'm walking and casting or just in a hurry. If I'm nymphing or dry fly fishing I notice it quickly, but with streamers I don't tend to notice it. It always annoys me when I got back to edit the footage LOL

Jealousy: the green eyed monster. I have a bad case of it after watching a great video by HFA. The creek, the brookies, the rock outcroppings and the play-by-play.
