I feel like I skipped the beginner stage honestly, I only say this because I started watching Blender tutorials through "the donut guy" Blender Guru, and I'd even rewatch some of them. I saw the view count drop significantly around the 6th or 7th video and started to worry because it looked like something I'd never be able to achieve, until, I dowloaded it and tried it for myself. I made a donut with glossy sprinkles in less than 10 minute's once I studied the process of solidifying and subdivision modifiers, how they worked, what order they were in etc, so now I'm making a yellow school bus with an opening door, full interior and everything, I'll have to make a new youtube under my new 3D name to show the world. Love the video, I liked and subscribed

Learn to use MTF Curves, it's a more accurate way to mimick film softness. Or you can use the blur slider in film damage (remove everything else the ofx is doing)

I wanted to learn 2 D animation, wasn’t accepted into any colleges for it because I couldn’t draw good enough, realized my school separated 2D and 3D animation so pivoted at the last second and I’m now in this industry while being extremely unprepared beforehand xD

So true! I want to take up 3D modeling as a hobby, just like drawing, which I already do. But everything takes forever when you only have about 4 hours a day to work on it. It took me 3 weeks just to transform my drawn character into 3D, and now I've already spent 2 weeks trying to add textures. Everything is moving so slowly. 😞 It’ll probably take me 3 or 4 months to finish the character.

Blender is the most difficult software to learn, ever. If you're truly serious about it, pick your area of expertise early on and stick to just that area. Don't try to be a generalist unless you're still in elementary school when you start down the Blender learning path. Also, you'll need a complete understanding of several of the sciences, although none of the terminology Blender uses actually matches these scientific disciplines, so you'll constantly be confused unless you get training from the Blender Foundation people.
