I was going to use this for the 2015 challenge with rope and wheel tread around gears. Unfortunately couldn't end up competing in 2015.

Tried the Cascade lift, not very efficient, don't waste your time, or I just did it wrong one or the other

Very accurate, my team got accepted to states with a Cascade but it's just so slow, might change to a 6 bar lift.

Forklifts are similar but different than this. Forklifts do not expand in height while this expands past its compacted height. Forklifts just move the load up a linear slide

I don't think they do. their telescopic patents are from 2017. This video is from 2014. It's also difficult to patent because it's already used as a single chain in forklifts for a century, and here is only two of them added together.

Please Help Me! I can't do this and it's really frustrating! I can't do 2:35 and it's not letting me place a work point on the sketch. It doesn't highlight any part of the sketch and I don't know what do. I've done every step multiple times and it's getting nowhere. Help!

Paul Greklek At the expense of some width. I have one of these in front of me and it holds up a 3 pound hammer just fine. Much heavier than the cones it will lift. Though I didn't follow this exact design; that wouldn't have been any fun.

I'm probably never going to do a tutorial but could post some more detailed photos. The LED matrix is a little complicated to build. All of the software is available to download from github. github.com/jpearman/viq_worlds_demo_2015

When I complete the final step the links following the curved path remain parallel with the line portion of the path. I think it is because of the angle constraint. Can you tell me how to fix this or where I made a mistake?

This Static Chain video is not correct. A real chain does not use 1/2 links as you do. there are link pins, outer plate, inner plate, and rollers. You would never make a chain as you do in your video.
@jamespearman3520
@jamespearman3520 9 жыл бұрын
It's an accurate representation of the chain used with the VEX robotics system. This chain is made from interlocking plastic parts, each link is the same and is a half link. The individual STEP files used in this demo were downloaded from the VEX robotics web site and were created from the original Solidworks parts.

Yes, for this demo I was programming using the open source runtime library I created for the cortex, ConVEX. I also use eclipse as the IDE. This is one of two alternative free programming solutions for the VEX cortex, the other being the Purdue robotics operating system (PROS), however, that is a closed source solution.
