This is not fair to Jackie Wilson. Of course everyone is going to vote for James Brown you're playing his song. Now next time pit them against each other but with Jackie Wilson's song.

I'm so glad I was young in that era, we did those dances, all the kids danced to R&B at the school dances and parties!

Love the authentic wardrobe of the day…. Headbands & “the flip” hairdos. My sisters insisted on wearing their skirts hemlines halfway up the knee w/ knee socks. The sexual 60’s on the rise. Soon to come…Mini skirts, go go boots, freak out colors & a fucking war to wash it all down. 🤩

One thing so amazing about watching this old TV clip from the mid 1960s is just how much of Jackie Wilson's dynamism, athleticism, and incredible showmanship comes through even here!

Jackie was known for being a dynamic artist on stage, he was known as "Mr. Excitement". He could out do James Brown without even trying. In his time, he was amazing, would "dance" from one end of the stage to the other doing amazing moves. Unfortunately, there is video of those performances. This is a performance 8 years later. I had seen jackie "Live" approximately 150 times and I think this was NOTt one of his best performances, but all my friends, who had never seen Jackie, think this is one of the best concerts they had ever seen by any artists.
