Hate can also get you through. My hatred for my three parents only gave me more determination to have a better life somewhere else. And I have. Living well is the best revenge.

This movie felt like a warm cozy hug on a chilly fall evening. Idk if it's the nostalgia from 2000s picture quality or the scenes lol. great movie!

These stories are so sad. But they also remind me how very lucky I was to have the mother I did. She said my partner was like a second son to her. And this was way back in the 70s

I loved this so much. My mother behaved similarly with my boyfriend at the time when he came to my sister’s wedding. I wish I’d had the courage similarly to stand up to her.

that movie has just put a big smile on my sleepy face, I adore Jeffry's courage to stand up for his lover and Mile's love, patient and his wisdom is beyond me i believe that their love is pure and they make one of the cutest couples i've seen and I know some parents can be strict but eventually she made the right decision

I dated a guy for about a year, his mother was a real MEGA BITCH. She hated the fact her baby boy was dating another guy, no matter what he and I did she found some reason to ruin it. One afternoon she came over to my place not knowing my boyfriend ( her son ) was there in the bedroom. She said Vulcan I'm gonna write you out a check for $20,000 to leave my son and never talk with or see ever again. I couldn't believe what she said, I said your son ( Robby .. not his real name ) means more to me than a hundred billion dollars. As soon as I said that Robby came out of the bedroom wearing only a towel, he said mom I just heard what you said. He then said mom I never ever want to see you ever again, don't call me don't e-mail me don't come by my apt don't fucking ever bother me again. As far as I know he has nothing to do with her. His mother was a lot worse than the mother in this video.

Lord this reminds me of my ex. His family were the epitome of total schmucks the exception being his Dad, who was coincidentally shunned by their family. It was actually too painful to watch beyond the dinner scene. Patrick and I were together 5 years, and all th poison from his Mum spilled into his mind and on a trip to visit my family - he broke up with me over the phone. It took a long time to heal. But God's blessings... had it not been for that painful experience I wouldn't have met the love of my life (going on 20 years) and our two wonderful sons. It just socks that people are like this. It affects everyone around their toxic crap.

omg, that tone mother has.. tipical toxic controling you do what i say paent tone. it works on small kids, puberty kids, teen kids, coz years and years of trining force them into submission and to bend to parent will. but cant work od formed adults who got away, matured and are in peac with themselves. you can see frustration in her eyes, body language yelling jeffrey jeffrey and it does not work anymore...

if my mother wouldn´t accept my lifepartner(boyfriend) and she don´t ever try to adapt - i would say to her (in the scene when the mother force an apology from jeff) "... as long as you refuse to accept miles for what he means to me I don't want to have anything to do with you (...you´re not my mother you only monster that gift birth to me...,heartless bitch...), even if decency dictates that I be present at my sister's wedding, I don't have to. no matter how angry she gets, she can thank you and your antiquated way of thinking. good night ( with highstress)! (doorslamming)..." - i would say something like that

This was beautiful. I honestly love happy endings like this, specially when they aren't forced. The story flows so well,it doesn't seem like it was planned,it just happened. Amazing work.

Only short movies like this dare to go with happy ending. Most big screen releases love to fall to the stereotyped lgbtq tragic ending instead. 🤦♂️

@@BrokenSoulConfession Dramas of any genre aren't meant to have happy endings. Life isn't either. If you're a thinker, life is a comedy. If you're a feeler life is a tragedy. (It was very shocking, a tragedy, when Matthew died. The next episode had Lady Mary dressed in widow's weeds. Life goes on, happy or not. Usually not.)

Nice that the mother accepted the truth and became a better person. You can always love a person, but you don't have to love or accept the things they say or do. Miles understood her. 💓

A well done film about a touchy situation; but the woman's behavior even on a human level was unnecessarily rude and even cruel. How any relationship could ever survive in a family environment like this is beyond me.
