I think you probably running visual studio on a pretty strong machine, on cpu limited situations visual studio with resharper is almost unusable. Will try rider but I am pretty confident that it will be alot better

I've been using Rider for about 6 months now, currently using it for a blazor project and its hot reloading lacks a lot behind Visual Studio in Windows. Most of the times it forces you to rebuild the app when you do any change where Visual Studio simply apply the changes smoothly. VS + Resharper is a good combination. When you switch to MacOs, didn't see much of a benefit than using VS Code actually.

It is very bad in cpu limited situations, you need like 1 minute for the project to become responsive. And if you are opening multiple projects it is just a nightmare

Hi there sir, do you happen to get this "Could not read source map for ... ... PartAExtensions.js.map" errors on your debug console ? There is about 106 of this messages then keep showing up when the page is reloaded. I've tried the author's project and its also seems to be spewing out the same error

As someone who is interested in Blazor, and has built more than four enterprise projects this year, do you recommend I go with Blazor Hybrid? The flexibility to work on mobile using Blazor Hybrid is appealing. Has there been any updates for Maui since you made that video? Do you think those updates have addressed the problems and given us a reason to work with it?
@codingflamingo4 ай бұрын
Not really, over the past 3 years I have not seen many updates and the issues keep piling up on GitHub. We just did a major framework move at work to Avalonia UI wasting months engineering just to not deal with MAUI even though we are a fully blazer shop

Yeah, but you still need to create and manage your CA. You can do that with EZCA, but that's expensive... Sad Azure doesn't have a CA offering...

You only need this update if you are one of those people that uses public Wi-Fi a lot. The attacker needs physical access to the network. Which means they need to be connected to it. If someone gets access to your home Wi-Fi. You have different issues to worry about.
@aridlintm3 ай бұрын
No they dont, they only need to be in range of your wifi card in your device. They send the packet straight to the wifi card, even if you are not connected to any network, they still can hack you.

To be fair, this was running a massive project. For smaller projects it uses around 4 gb or less. Just wanted to show the extremes since some people's codebases grow to be that big

You should actually try flutter flow, it takes you 2 months probably to be really sufficient, and two weeks to wrap your head around, I think it can also be used for enterprise apps 🎉 yeah, bummer that it didn’t work out, interesting that Microsoft aren’t able to keep up with all the other frameworks, now they have rebranded Xamarin to Maui, what where most lacking in your opinion?
@codingflamingo6 ай бұрын
Thanks, since we had already the c# code we wanted to stay somewhat in the same lane, but we definitely want to try out flutter for new projects. It was just lacking support for many things, even their own applications such as intune had trouble distributing MAUI apps, so we just had to change frameworks because it was making us look bad.
@nicolaimagnussen19144 ай бұрын
I have now tried flutter flow extensively and it wasn't good enough when it became more advanced, I am looking more at flutter though

Hi, I'm about to embark on learning Dotnet for frontend stuff, was curious why you switched from MAUI to avalonia? I'm starting to learn Maui cause it has good documentation and I'm new to dotnet, but people seem to like avalonia a lot more. Would you recommend I start with MAUI and get comfortable with dotnet/xaml stuff with good documentation, and then move to Avalonia, or just bite the bullet and start with Avalonia and bad documentation? thanks.
