The "Church of Christ" is not a physical building. Thus, the words on a "Church Sign" in front of a physical building could never be used for "Spiritual identification." For some, it only identifies the denomination and the doctrine that's being taught within that particular assembly. The "Church of Christ" is the body of Christ composed of believers according to the Scriptures: Colossians 1:24 declares, "Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for HIS BODY'S SAKE, WHICH IS THE CHURCH:" 1 Corinthians 12:27 declares, "NOW YE ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST, and members in particular." A physical building, where the people of God come together as an assembly is referred to as "The house of prayer" or "the temple" according to the Scriptures. Matthew 21:13 declares, "And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves."
