Ufff! Celulosa! Eso significa talar arboles! Y ademas, no es reciclable! El plástico si lo es!!!! Y varias veces!

@hugojaviergomezpacheco7040
@hugojaviergomezpacheco7040 6 жыл бұрын

Being "old school" when it comes to preservatives, I see many issues with this: 1) The diffusion rate will vary greatly depending upon temperature. 2) The diffusion rate will vary greatly depending upon the nature of the product. 3) What conditions would be used for challenge testing? The product can only be tested in the actual pack, so the pack must be available before the formulation is finalised. 4) If low temperature storage is used prior to challenge testing, then more preservative will be required and, if the subsequent storage temperature is much higher, then the product will be over-preserved. 5) If high temperature storage is used prior to challenge testing then the converse of (4) will be observed. 6) Preservative could be lost via the external surface of the packaging, and people handling the packs regularly could be exposed to more preservative. 7) Controlled release cannot take into consideration the difference between o/w and w/o systems. 8) How long does it take for the preservative to be fully released? If the pack is around for a long time then, presumably, more preservative will be present than is necessary. 9) Any product must be adequately preserved from the moment it is produced and, therefore, sufficient preservative must also be present from the point of manufacture. Any further preservative released from the packaging is, logically, surplus to requirements. The video uses the tag line "active packaging solution for more natural cosmetic products". Reducing the "chemical preservative" content by 25 - 40% is hardly making "more natural cosmetic products"! From the commentary: "However the allowed content of some [preservatives] are being constantly reduced according to legislation, market trends and consumer demand". No, they are not. Not one preservative has had its maximum permitted concentration amended more than once.This is tantamount to scaremongering. "We tested several preservatives systems which are most of them a mixture of actives substances with natural extracts, specifically olive extracts." This raises some interesting regulatory questions. My interpretation is that, given that the preservative will be leaching into the product as a deliberate strategy, then the preservative should be included in the INCI declaration. As it must be in the INCI declaration, then the function of the material must be declared in the product information - this would unequivocally be "preservative". This material is not listed in Annex V of the Cosmetics Regulation and its use would, therefore, be illegal. I am open to challenge on this, but it doesn't look promising for anyone who prefers to stay within the law. Maybe I am wrong with these issues, but I will remain highly sceptical until this product is proven by successful widespread use. If I were a manufacturer, I would be very nervous about this technology.
